Stress & Rescue

The SSI Stress & Rescue course is an important and fundamental step, for any diver who wants to develop their skills beyond the level of typical recreational diving. Completion of the SSI Stress & Rescue course is the first requirement for courses for all ranks in the SSI Divemaster, Instructional Assistant or Open Water Diving Instructor (OWSI) training division of SSI.

During this program, you will acquire the skills and knowledge required to navigate safely and confidently on dives. You will learn how to use a compass and learn the techniques of natural navigation, distance estimation, basic navigation patterns and how to leave and return to a designated point. Upon completion of this course, you will be certified in the SSI Navigation specialty.

During this program, you will acquire the skills and knowledge required to safely dive with enriched air up to 32% or 40% oxygen. Diving with nitrox, compared to that with air, can extend no-decompression limits, increase safety and reduce the duration of surface breaks.

SSI specialization is the best way to improve buoyancy and increase diving enjoyment. Buoyancy control is a key skill, but any diver will tell you that perfecting it takes time. The Perfect Buoyancy specialization will teach you advanced techniques and ways to control buoyancy so you can improve your buoyancy faster. This will allow you to truly relax on your underwater adventures! In this developing training course, you will become familiar with skills that protect the environment and will work in any situation. Upon completion of the course, you will receive your SSI Perfect Buoyancy specialty certificate. With improved buoyancy control, you'll be able to hover effortlessly in the depths and take the underwater photos of your dreams!

The Dive Guide course will prepare you to non-commercially lead dive groups and support other divers in the water. You will learn how to organize dives, plan dives and ensure safety underwater and on the surface. And if you want to become a professional dive guide - a Divemaster, the Dive Guide course is the most important step in preparing for this role.

React Right is SSI's first aid course and will provide you with the cross-cutting knowledge and training needed by a first responder in a life or health emergency. In this flexible dive course, you can choose exactly what you want to learn, including casualty assessment, first aid, CPR and basic stabilization techniques. The SSI Deep Diving specialization will teach you everything you need to know to dive in the 18-40 meter range through a combination of theory classes and open water dives. You will learn how to plan and safely fulfill your deep diving dreams. You'll learn how to use your dive computer effectively and learn the calculations involved in gas consumption to enjoy deep dives to the fullest. Upon completion of the SSI Deep Diving Specialization, you will be certified and will be able to explore beautiful deep dive sites around the world. This SSI Specialization is also required before other more advanced courses, so it is a natural step in your diving development.
