The Independent Diver Program is not intended to discourage you from continuing to dive with a buddy; rather, it is designed to prepare you for situations in which you might become separated from your dive partner. Nevertheless, after this very intensive course, you will be able to plan and conduct dives as a solo diver. In the theory portion, we will discuss the necessary technical requirements and emergency procedures and highlight the specifics of dive planning and air management. In the pool, we’ll conduct safety-related exercises using the necessary independent diving equipment and simulate emergency situations and the correct response to them. The course concludes with three “guided” open-water dives, which you will plan, prepare, and carry out entirely on your own. Our instructor will accompany you as an observer and will intervene only in the most extreme emergencies.

Take an Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty course if you want to shorten your surface intervals and extend your dive time. You'll spend more time exploring your favorite dive sites instead of waiting! With the course you will expand your diving knowledge to plan safe dives with enriched air mixtures up to 40% oxygen. Solo Diving—There is hardly any other topic in scuba diving that sparks as much debate as diving without a dive partner. This course is not intended to dissuade anyone who does not wish to dive without a dive partner from their conviction. It is important that all those who wish to practice solo diving receive thorough training. Only in this way will solo diving—which many already practice—become even safer. But the SSI Solo Diver course isn’t about training divers who will then dive safely on their own; rather, it’s simply about training dive partners who are capable of saving themselves in any situation, thereby providing an enormous degree of safety for their partner. The Divemaster program is the first step on an exciting journey. Earn the respect of your dive buddies and become an ambassador for diving by completing the Divemaster program. All you need is 40 verified dives and certifications in Deep Diving, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility or at least 5 verified dives in each area plus Diver Stress & Rescue. Upon successful completion of the Divemaster program, you will be certified as a Dive Guide. If you want to turn your passion into a profession by guiding certified divers, teaching ecology programs, assisting instructors or even becoming an instructor yourself, your next step is the Divemaster upgrade with at least 60 logged/verified dives. You can upgrade to Divemaster immediately or later by studying the Science of Diving materials yourself and passing the Digital Final Exam, which makes you an SSI Professional. There are thousands of job opportunities worldwide for the next generation of highly qualified divers.

The Assistant Instructor is the next logical step after the Divemaster on your way to becoming an Instructor. This group is open to all fans of afterwork diving from Tauchservice Ullmann, to exchange ideas and to dive AWD from May to September every Thursday at Lake Murner, from around 6 p.m. Diving takes place in buddy teams in compliance with the applicable standards of the individual diving associations.
