A freshwater diving destination in the state of São Paulo, Rifaina is home to one of the smallest reservoirs in the Furnas Hydroelectric System. In the summer, the water reaches 29°C on the surface and 26°C at the bottom, with an average visibility of around 8.9 meters. However, the best time for diving is from May to December, peaking in winter, the season we chose, when visibility can reach almost 20 meters and the water temperature is around 23°C.

A bit of history and archaeological immersion, with the old city, railway station trails, brick and tile factories. One of the highlights is the old bridge that connected São Paulo to Minas Gerais, where a car (a white Dodge Polara) still rests on top. The old riverbed near the island in the strait has a deformation created by the water, ranging from 6 to 19 meters and reaching depths of up to 35 meters, allowing for both recreational and technical dives among the region's canyons. An incredible scenery that seems to have been sculpted to create a unique landscape. In addition to the geological views from the dive, it's possible to see schools of catfish, peacock bass, tilapia, large trahira, and other types of fish.
