Dive 90 started in November 1990 and has been based for the majority of that time at the Knightsbridge Business Centre, close to Cheltenham. We are the only family run dive centre in Gloucestershire and to date have trained over 10000 divers and have sent more than 5000 packing to exotic diving holiday destinations around the world.
During our 30 years of service we have become a one stop shop offering training, equipment sales, regulator and cylinder servicing, dry suit repairs, holidays and UK diving trips. Our customers like to come in to browse, have a chat and maybe, just maybe get offered a cuppa!
Our Cheltenham based shop stocks the diving industries top brands in diver equipment. We hold stocks of BCDs, wings, valves, cylinders, wetsuits, dry suits, boots, fins, masks and snorkels, as well as the latest computers, watches, compasses and gauges. If you are looking for a dive bag, T-shirt, torch or knife, we have a wide range to choose from. Stoney Cove quarry was originally a granite mine. In 1958 when quarrying at the site ceased, the quarry filled with spring water. Today, the site consists of 3 main levels: a 6m shelf area, ideal for beginner training, a 36m sump for more advanced training and the main body consisting of 2 large 22m deep areas.
Capernwray is the North-West’s inland dive site frequented by many divers and schools. Tends to open at weekends and from thursdays in the winter and on wednesdays through to evening in the summer.
The main diving area of Lundy Island is a protected marine nature reserve. The island lies at the mouth of the Bristol Channel and is washed by the Gulf Stream, providing a haven for some of the richest marine life to be found outside the tropics.
Ideally situated just of the M5 motorway in South Gloucestershire, Slickstones Quarry (its real name) is an ideal place for training and for novice divers, Depths vary in the water from 1m-16m, Visibility varies depending on time of year.
Welcome to the UK’s friendliest inland scuba diving and open water swimming venue. For certified divers, there is no better place to hone your diving skills and have fun than at Vobster Quay.
Brixham breakwater is an ideal dive site for new divers to gain more experience, with a depth of 7 (ish) meters with lots of marine life to see. Good local facilities nearby.
This is a paddle steamer built at the end of the 1800s. Towards the end of its life it was used as a barge to ferry coal out to the battleships moored within the harbour. In 1935 it was blown from its moorings and ended up wrecked against the breakwater wall where it remains.
Very popular dive, however limited because of it’s position and the local currents and tides. Lying upright on the sea bed at a depth of around 32m and going up to around 18m.
This wreck was a Belgian Passenger liner sunk by a mine on 15 Sept 1939. The depth is around 27m. Strong currents exist in the area so it must be dived during slack tide! The stern section broke off and is now located around 100m from the rest of the wreck.
Wraysbury is a great dive site for any diver, but particularly novices and divers needing a convenient refresher dive. With a maximum depth of 14m Wraysbury has a huge number of various sized wrecks, including the fuselage of a 737 plane, a bus, thorpe park rangers, boats, cars, and even a VW camper van.
