What will I do during a Try Scuba Diving Session?Prior to the session you will complete a small online review via the SSI App and complete all required paperwork.Meet us at the Dive Centre prior to the pool session where you will meet your instructional team for an introductory talk, be fitted and introduced to the equipment you’ll be using as well as the all important safety briefing and what you can expect.  After arriving at our local pool facilities - Oakham School Pool, Kilburn Road, Oakham  you will enter the water ready for your scuba adventure.  You will spend a minimum of an hour underwater but maybe the entire two hours if you can make it last that long (and most do!), and we know you’ll enjoy every minute!We will help you through every step of your adventure.  Our staff will help you to put on your SCUBA gear and guide you into the water where you’ll have the chance to dive down up to 3 metres.

Correctly mixing gasses is essential to being able to breathe safely underwater. The SSI Drysuit Speciality allows you to experience UK Diving or cooler climates and some of the amazing sites we have around our amazing coastline as well as just extending your diving season.If you want to see the spectacular and prolific aquatic life often found in cooler water climates you'll need to stay warm and that means a dry suit. The Instructor Evaluation (IE) is the final step of SSI’s 2-Step Instructor Training Approach Divemasters or equivalent-level professionals will have to successfully complete the Instructor Training Course (ITC) first where you’ll learn how to: • Conduct academic sessions • Lead confined water training • Teach Open Water Diver and various Specialty programs like Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress&Rescue, Perfect Buoyancy and more • Develop student management and communication skills Already an experienced instructor with another agency? You may be eligible for shortened oboarding options where you will only have to complete certain parts of the Instructor Training Course (ITC) followed by passing an Instructor Evaluation (IE). The Divemaster program is the first step on an exciting journey. Earn the respect of your dive buddies and become an ambassador for diving by taking the Divemaster program. All you need to get started are 40 verified/logged dives and certifications in Deep Diving, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility or at least 5 logged/verified dives experience in each area plus Diver Stress & Rescue.Saturday pool sessions are 18:00 - 20:00 / Thursdays 19:00 - 21:00.  Open Water training will be completed at Stoney Cove (could change).  Entrance fees are not included in the course feesDates published are pool dates - open water dates are agreed directly with you the student.Dates can be scheduled around your availability as we have access to private pools - pool dates currently advertised are in our standard training schedule
