Off the west side of Gili Air is a sandy slope known for its coral bommies, soft coral, and macro marine life. Amongst the marine life here you can find schools of fusiliers and snappers. This is a great site for every level of diver.
Hans Reef is a gentle sandy slope that runs parallel to the shore and features a large coral mound and smaller outcrops. It is suitable for divers of all experience levels and is often used for training. It is excellent for night diving and navigation. Coral blocks attract a lot of marine life!
Considered a “muck diving“ site, Hans Reef sits just off the east coast of Gili Air and provides great opportunitities for macro photographers or those wanting to see some of the smaller, stranger creatures found here.
Located in the foothills of the mystical volcano, Rinjani, this dive is a sandy, yet vibrant site known to divers in the northern region of Lombok as ’Magic Pier’.
A gently sloping reef on the south side of Gili Trawangan with a good variety of hard and soft corals, interspersed with bommies and large table corals that shelter the fish.
A 30m long sunken platform on the southwest side of Meno, this site is covered in hard and soft corals. The reef is a haven for many types of fish such as scorpion fish, stone fish, and juvenile batfish. Large schools of drummer fish are often seen here.
Located at Teluk Cheningan, Lombok, Seahorse Bay delivers world class muck diving. A sandy slope going down to 30m with soft and hard corals spread out along the site. This site is as its’ name indicates, famous for its seahorse population.
The harbour of Gili Air is home to much of the smaller marine life around the islands. As well as having frogfish, pipefish, seahorses, and other macro life, it is also the home for the famous mandarin fish, seen either on dawn- or dusk dives. A popular dive site for the macro crazed diver.
On the southern tip of Gili Meno lays a series of ’rolling’ ridges angled in towards the island. This site grows gradually deeper and an abundance of local marine life can be found through out the area.
