
Neptuni Åkrar is a stunning dive site located off the coast of northern Öland, Sweden, near Byxelkrok. It’s part of a nature reserve known for its dramatic limestone formations and vibrant marine life.
5 German cargo ships were sunk here on October 11, 1915 by the English submarine E19. One of the ships was salvaged and repaired. The wrecks are between 75 m and 115 m long and lie between 24 and 39 m deep. The wrecks are impressive but are unfortunately starting to fall apart.
Stora Rör is a small town in Borgholm municipality. Before the opening of the Öland Bridge, there was a ferry connection from here to Revsudden on Skäggenäs. This is where the distance between Öland and the mainland is shortest.
