With the SSI Deep Diving Specialty, you'll learn everything you need to dive from 18 to 40 meters through a combination of academic sessions and open water dives. With SSI's Diver Stress & Rescue specialty program, you'll learn the skills necessary to protect yourself and your fellow divers. Not only will you learn how to identify stress and avoid accidents, but we'll also teach you practical techniques for conducting rescues and providing assistance in emergency situations. React Right is SSI's first aid and emergency course: it gives you the training and knowledge you need to act as a first responder in a medical emergency. This dive program is totally flexible, so you can choose the topics that interest you, such as primary care, first aid, CPR and primary stabilization techniques. You can also learn the basics of automatic external defibrillation (AED) and oxygen administration in emergency diving situations. This program, which combines academic sessions and hands-on training scenarios, gives you the tools and confidence you need to perform correctly. As a Nitrox Diver, you'll be able to increase your bottom times and safety margins and reduce surface intervals, so you can spend more time diving and less time waiting. In this program you will learn new skills and increase your dive knowledge. In addition, you will learn how to plan and safely dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. Upon completion, you'll earn your SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification.

The SSI Decompression Diving Specialty will teach you to dive beyond the no-decompression limits. You will learn how to plan and conduct dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression using a total recreational dive system and a single decompression cylinder. In addition, you will know how to effectively use the dive computer functions, including gas switching, gas integration, time to reserve and time to surface. Eventually, you will use these dive computer functions instinctively and safely perform limited decompression dives without hours of planning. Upon completion, you'll earn SSI's Decompression Diving specialty certification and be able to explore deeper dive sites or larger wrecks without the restriction of traditional no-decompression limits, multiplying your adventure possibilities.

You will try Deep Diving and Navigation plus a variety of 3 more specialty areas of choice before committing to full specialty training. It is a great way to experience what advanced diver training is all about and how valuable it can be to your diving adventures. During the Advanced Open Water Diver Program, you will experience 5 different specialties by completing one open water training dive per specialty after a comprehensive briefing with your SSI Instructor. By taking this program you will have total freedom to explore. You can complete the full Specialty trainings any time in the future and credit your Advanced Open Water Diver training towards them.

The Divemaster program is the first step on an exciting journey. Earn the respect of your dive buddies and become an ambassador for diving by taking the Divemaster program. All you need to get started is 40 logged/verified dives and certifications in Deep Diving, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility or at least 5 logged/verified dives of experience in each area plus Diver Stress & Rescue. You will receive the Dive Guide certification upon successful completion of the Divemaster program. When your interest is to turn your passion into a profession by guiding certified divers, teaching Ecology programs, assisting instructors or even becoming an instructor yourself, your next step is the Divemaster upgrade with a minimum of 60 logged/verified dives. Upgrade to Divemaster immediately or at any time thereafter by studying the Science of Diving materials on your own and passing the Digital Final Exam that makes you an SSI professional. After becoming a Divemaster, the Assistant Instructor qualification is the next step in a dive instructor's career path. The Instructor Evaluation (IE) is the final step of SSI’s 2-Step Instructor Training Approach Divemasters or equivalent-level professionals will have to successfully complete the Instructor Training Course (ITC) first where you’ll learn how to: • Conduct academic sessions • Lead confined water training • Teach Open Water Diver and various Specialty programs like Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress&Rescue, Perfect Buoyancy and more • Develop student management and communication skills Already an experienced instructor with another agency?
