Still Bay Scuba

Dreams are best pursued by Diving in head first! What started out as a gift in January 2017 for me and my wife starting an Open Water Course at Ocean Comocean (now AquaDivers Pretoria) and ending into me becoming an Instructor at Scuba Schools International (SSI) thirteen months later in February 2018. I’ve always had a passion to teach or better others in different sport/career genres. As Scuba diving was just a sideline passion on the odd weekends during the year; I decided to pick up some practical experience at Oceana Dive Centre in Mozambique in December 2018. That was it…. I don’t know whether it was being a Dive Guide, Instructor, Staff member or friend while working long hard hours that just pushed my passion into an invaluable purpose for Scuba Diving. But it was all worth it as my training and experience pushed me into a new level of enjoyment and I furthered my career and spent more weekends and holidays in Ponta (Mozambique). We have relocated to my hometown StillBay in December 2020. I grew up here in a small town where fishing and surfing was mainly the interests. Now this small Hometown has grown into the playground and homes to many new families.

There is spring, summer, fall and winter below the waves, just as it is on land, and each season has its own fauna and flora. You will notice who is prey and who is predator, and if you take your time, you will see that fish are not the simple creatures we make them out to be. You will laugh out loud watching a sea star do a back-flip on a smooth wall, and you may be startled to find out that some cod would challenge you to defend its eggs. Even the Potato Bass coming to you for attention like a house pet. You will notice the color of the water, and the rays of the sun playing on the sand.

In short, once you are past the fear and the gear, you will see and understand the world under water more clearly. Diving always puts things in perspective and makes me appreciate life. I want to offer and share this underwater world with others by introducing courses ranging from Fun Diving to Professional career opportunities! I’ve had some of the best trainers thus far and have met lots of people during this time ranging from clients to Professionals that I now call friends.
