Less than 10 minutes from the port of Sesimbra, and next to the amazing Ribeira do Cavalo beach, we can dive into this fantastic place, characterized by a rock in the shape of a mule. On a sandy bottom with some rocky areas, it is an excellent spot for wall diving with the sight of lots of marine life.

★★★★☆ Baía da Guia

Guia Bay, or Guia Lighthouse, is a beautiful reef, which extends to the southwest of the bay, from 5 to 14 meters deep. Starting in an area of ​​white sand, we follow the reef to our right. On the way back we hover above the reef, entering the small passages that appear to us 

★★★★☆ Catrapona

Catrapona is a popular spot for both recreational and technical divers in the Sesimbra area. It is located north of Cabo Espichel and, thus, exposed to prevalent waves and winds that normally hit the Portuguese occidental coast all year round.

This spot consists of a large rock with a slit that crosses it giving the sensation of being 2 separate rocks.It is possible to pass underneath from one side to the other because there is an opening in the form of an arc.

★★★★☆ Praia da Poça - House Reef

At the exit of the beach, facing south, there is a small sand bank surrounded by a reef that extends to the east, south and west. The reef is located at a minimum depth of 1.5m and a maximum of 8m. It has cracks running north to south, perpendicular to the coast.

★★★★☆ Maria Alice

This reef, following the grotto da pombeira, extends to the southwest, from 8 to 19 meters deep.Rock outcrops interspersed with areas of white sand give an extraordinary beauty to this spot, full of marine life.

About a mile southwest of GUIA laboratory, we found a concrete structure and two huge tubes sprinkled with life! With a minimum depth of 26 meters, it is a dive only for experienced divers.

Protected bay, just a 10-minute boat ride away, this diving site is perfect for beginners, but the rock cutouts and species found never fail to surprise even the most experienced. Maximum depth of 14 meters

Diving site that owes its name to the huge rocky recess found in the area. This dive takes place along the coast with depths between 9 meters (with some gorges) and 16 meters where the reef meets the sand.

This dive site is an extensive rocky bottom area that lies at about 1.5 km west of Cape Espichel. Depth varies between 34-42m. Due to its location, the existence of strong currents is common.

This site is easily identified at the surface by its distinctive geological formation at the base of the cape. Waves and swell here create large water spurts (in rough weather you can even hear “roaring“). Underneath it - under calm conditions - there’s a cavern-like environment and beautiful walls to be explored.

★★★★☆ Ponta da Passagem

This is one of the most amazing and versatile spots in Sesimbra. There is a big canyon that has walls full of colorful life, like yellow sponges, nudibranchs, and anemones.

★★★★☆ Arcanzil

Arcanzil is a rock formation located a few tens of meters south of the coast of Sesimbra, near Cape Espichel. It rises from the bottom (located at 15m) to the surface. It is rare for the top of the stone get completely submerged.
