Scubapro, Stephen Frink SS Yongala Wreck (★4.6) SS Yongala Wreck - The boat is now an artificial reef with amazing marine life that are supersized compared to seeing them on the Great Barrier Reef. You cannot penetrate or touch the wreck as it is a grave site but this doesn’t take away from this amazing dive. Can have very strong currents. SSI AUSTRALIA, 4207 YATALA Milln Reef - The Whale (★4.3) The premier dive and snorkel destination out of Cairns. Milne Reef has exceptional visibility and will impress even the most experienced diver. Gorgeous shallow coral gardens, swim-throughs, and a guarantee turtle encounters await you. Mares, Janez Kranjc Norman Reef - Caves (★4.5) Amazing dive site with heaps of swim through for experienced divers. Big drop off plenty of marine life. Full of shallow areas for beginner divers with little caves and holes around to explore. Mares Flynn Reef - 2 Gordon's (★4.4) Location: Flynn Reef Maximum Depth: 22m Visibility: 15m. Site: Gordon’s Mooring has some great swim-throughs and overhangs amongst the variety of smaller bommies. Features a wide range of corals such as brain and plate and diverse marine life including large established giant clam gardens Scubapro, Stephen Frink Flynn Reef - Coral Gardens (★4.5) Positioned 20 kilometres east of Green Island off the Cairns coast, Flynn Reef is home to several dive sites - with the Coral Gardens being just one of them.Located on the outer reef this site has consistently good visibility of close to 30 metres. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic North Solitary Islands (★4.2) Boat dive- Distance from Wooli: Only 7 nautical miles away (approximately a 20-minute boat ride).Depth Range: Diving sites here vary from 10 to 42 meters. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Julian Rocks - Split Bommie (★4.1) Large scattered bombies with a unique crevice, this site is suitable for most diving levels and reaches up to 15m depth. This site provides great diving year-round with plenty of critters both large and small. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Julian Rocks - Cod Hole (★4.2) An amazing dive site for the experienced diver! The Cod Hole is a small underwater cave located on the northern tip and opens up at approximately 15m deep, then slopes downwards to a depth of 21m. ADRENO GOLD COAST, 4215 SOUTHPORT Flinders Reef (★4.3) Moreton Bay Marine Park is home to Brisbane’s only true coral reef and fully protected marine sanctuary, Flinders Reef. Scuba dive among an amazing array of marine life and coral, perfect for any diver. REEF ENCOUNTER, 4870 CAIRNS Twin Peaks, Saxon Reef (★4.5) Two large coral peaks with lots of shallow reef around to the southeast. Approximately 60 meters in total diameter, with a small ridge connecting the two peaks. Keith D. ADRENO BRISBANE, 4102 WOOLLOONGABBA Cherubs Cave (★4.5) A small concrete cherub once marked the main entrance to this hidden cave off Moreton Island. While the guardian has since disappeared, this underwater world remains to be discovered by the adventurous diver. REEF ENCOUNTER, 4870 CAIRNS Fingers, Norman Reef (★4.5) Perfect for beginners and advanced divers, Fingers is a shallow cove making it well protected from the elements. The reason the site is named fingers is from a Birdseye view it looks like the fingers of a hand, the fingers themselves sit to the South-West of the site and can get quite deep. REEF ENCOUNTER, 4870 CAIRNS Troppos, Norman Reef (★4.4) Sitting at the most Northern point of Norman Reef is the hidden gem Troppos. Troppos is Beginner friendly as it has a lovely shallow sandy lagoon with lots of nooks and crannies to explore, but also has a deep scenic reef wall with a sloping sandy bottom, perfect for any Advance diver wanting to gain some depth. Mares Flynn Reef (★4.3) Coral Extravaganza – Flynn Reef is adorned with coral reefs that defy the imagination. From delicate branching corals to massive boulder corals, the reef’s diverse inhabitants create a mesmerizing tapestry of colours and shapes that never fails to enchant. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Julian Rocks - Nursery (★4.3) The perfect site for new divers, old divers, and snorkelers alike, with a protected shallow haven of 5-12m, this area is a very popular dive site. Anita H. (#2439381) Exmouth Navy Pier (★4.6) The Navy Pier is situated just 15 minutes outside Exmouth. It only can be accessed by granted company’s from the Australian Military as this is a base. ID must be shown before hand and fee payed to enter. Mares, Janez Kranjc Nurse Rock (★3.9) Imagine a mini grand canyon, two large rocks rest side by side, with a split between the two. There are lots of bait fish between the two rocks. At the base of the rock you will find two tight swim throughs (tunnels). Mares Kat’s Kables (★4.5) This is an anchoring site near Two Caves. Look for old communication cables connecting Direction Island to Australia and the world. Sadly it appears that Kat the dugong may have moved on to green sea grass pastures. Mares Fan Wall (★4.3) Popular site for all levels of divers. Lots to see on top of the reef shallower than 20m. Experienced divers can venture out into the blue to swim with the black trevally and look down at the cruising sharks and dogtooth tuna. The expert diver can slip down the wall to 40m to enjoy the fans and a cave. Mares, Janez Kranjc Two Ridges (★4.3) With some imagination, the two large coral outcrops at Two Ridges looks like a sunken upside down catamaran hull. Kat the dugong was a regular visitor to this site. Mares Ski Run (★4.7) Very popular dive site with many repeat divers. Start the dive on the edge of the coral reef. Head down the sand to see the glassfish bommie. Watch the trevally feeding. While dropping slowly down the slope, look for sleeping white tip reef sharks and extra-long garden eels. This dive has something for everyone. Mares South Point (★4.7) 10-15m dive over broken ground. Boat entry. Usually protected in most conditions. This site is a nursery for juvenile fish. Thousands of Old Wife, Bight Redfish, Moonlighter and Breaksea. SSI AUSTRALIA, 4207 YATALA Norman Reef - Playgrounds (★4.4) On the southern part of Norman Reef, we have Playgrounds and Shark Mountain. Playgrounds for more beginner divers and Shark Mountain for a bit more advanced divers. Beautiful coral reef and bommies to explore. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Evolution, Saxon Reef (★4.5) This site is made up of a collection of coral bommies, where you can find many different features. It is a good dive for all the levels, being around the shallows will surprise you with the incredible marine life that you can find. Aqualung Saxon Reef Magic Wall (★4.5) Shallow wall, goes about 15m deep with scattered bommies in the deeper sand. Heaps of small caves that hides eels and octopus. Recommended from beginners to advanced divers. REEF ENCOUNTER, 4870 CAIRNS Turtle Bommie, Saxon Reef (★4.6) Large bommie structure surrounded by beautiful hard and soft corals and a wide range of brightly coloured fish. The white sandy bottom makes it easy to navigate the exquisite reef wall. David G. (#3752744) Tree Peaks - Saxon Reef (★4.6) Dive site for all different levels. It is call tree peak because an old tree underwater and corals had grown all over it. It is a beautiful place in the shallows with hips of colours to enjoy.
