Cirkewwa is a harbour which is situated on the northernmost tip of the Northern Region of the Island of Malta, located in the Mediterranean Sea. This is the most visited region of Malta and there is a large array of dive sites from shallow, easy dive sites to deep wrecks and even a natural arch all within a few hundred metres of one another. The clear waters of the Mediterranean, the vast abundance of marine life to spot and easy diving conditions, this is an ideal location for divers to enjoy a combination of spectacular boat and shore dives.

What makes this such a popular diving destination is the fact there are so many different types of dive sites along one stretch of coast and all so easily accessible. The dive sites vary from shallow sandy bottoms which are perfect for dive courses, two deep wrecks Tugboat Rozi and Patrol Boat P29, some exciting rock topography and formations including swim-throughs, tunnels, caves, two natural arches and a unique Madonna statue.

The best Months to Dive in Cirkewwa

Malta definitely has four seasons, but luckily the summer is much longer than winter meaning more months of warm waters. From May to October, the water temperatures are above 20°C, with 27°C being the maximum in August and 13°C in January being the minimum. The air temperatures range between 10°C in winter and 30°C in the summer. The visibility here is fantastic, ranging between 20 and 40 metres!
