Scubapro, Stephen Frink White Hole (★4.4) In the West of Sandy Bay, this dive site’s buoy got lost, it’s right next to Dragon Maze. A 35 feet deep sandy patch in between the shallower Dragon Maze and the wall to 100 feet . Mares Four Sponges (★4.5) On the eastern end of Sandy Bay Four Sponges offers a site for everyone again: The top of the reef lies around 30-45 feet. idel for beginners and drifting over the reef where the current takes you. The wall is stunning and drops to 80 feet and a little ways out to 120 feet, ideal for courses. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Christophers Coral (★4.6) Very close and a little west to one of the major wrecks, the Oddyssey, this is a shallow site on top of the reef with sandy stretches and coral at around 25 feet with the wall dropping to 90 feet. Bret S. (#170802) Odyssey (Wreck) (★4.5) 110 feet under the surface of Roatan you can find the Odyssey Wreck. 300 feet long, 50 wide and, 85 feet tall, this wreck will impress. Sunk for divers in 2002, the wreck was donated by Hydes of Hybour. Mares Land of the Giants (★4.6) Shallow top Reef at 5m, steep wall with lots of cracks and canyons to the east. Slightly sloping sandy bottom starting at about 25m and sloping off to 35m+. Mares Palmetto Keyhole (★4.5) Characteristic of channels you’ll find on Roatan, Key Hole offers you an impressive display of topography with overhangs to explore. You will begin your dive at about 30ft and the reef walls guide you into the channel. Diventures, 65810 Springfield Dolphins Den (★4.6) A shallow cave/cavern dive at 5-12m accessible from either inside or outside the reef. Torches are advisable but an experienced diver can work through with the natural light Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Mr. Bud Wreck (★4.4) Mr. Bud is a shallow wreck in Roatan, Honduras. We take an annual trip and always go to this site. It sits upright and is easy to swim through since it is totally open. Aqualung Cara a Cara (★4.7) “Cara a Cara Point” is a dive located on the south side of the island of Roatan, reachable in about 20 minutes by bus and about 15 minutes by boat from a SSI center. It is strongly recommended to all divers to do at least one acclimation dive before! Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Fingers Reef (★4.2) Classic Florida Keys spur and groove reef formation with large sand channels alternating with high profile coral fingers. An ideal site for seeing spotted eagle rays. Aqualung Anglin Pier Ledge (★4.0) The reef here runs parallel to the shoreline (north and south) and is a great shallow second dive when heading back from the deeper wreck dives of South Florida. The north end of the reef has some great habitat off to the west of the main ledge as well. ANTIDOTE PLONGEE, 97117 PORT-LOUIS Oeil (★4.3) Sculpted over thousands of years by the sea, the sites of Port-Louis present an original underwater architectural structure: ARCHES AND CAVERNS. Discover them for yourself! 2 arches and 1 cavern to discover on this site. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Car Wrecks (Kokomo Beach) (★4.3) Car Pile is a dive site that was create in the mid 1970’s. The reef initially starts in a 45 degree angle. In the 1970’s, this area was seleted as a “dumping area“ for old cars that were no longer operational. The engines were removed from the vehicles and placed on a barge. Aqualung Barracuda Point, Carriacou (★4.5) Half a mile off-shore of Carriacou, Barracuda Point is one of the amazing dives at Sisters Rocks. These two volcanic peaks rise up from a sandy bottom to form two of the best diving locations in the Caribbean. Mares, Janez Kranjc Deep Blue, Carriacou (★4.6) Located on the northwest side of Sisters Rocks, Deep Blue is a colorful dive for advanced divers, since you might experience strong currents and drift quite fast around the twin rocks. The depth of this site goes down to 40m/ 130ft. Mares Jack-A-Dan West, Carriacou (★4.4) Shallow dive, perfect for training and snorkeling. Abundant fish and macro life, very pretty and great visibility when sunny and good conditions allow. Mares, Janez Kranjc Valan’s Wall, Carriacou (★4.2) This site is halfway between Sandy Island and Jack-A-Dan; max depth is 20m/66f. It is a relaxing drift dive on a sloping reef with very interesting topography, huge overhangs housing lobsters, and schools of beautiful wrasse. Mares Sharkies Hideaway Part 1 (★4.4) This is a point A to point B drift dive that takes in exciting volcanic cliffs, great reefs, and ends in a rocky amphitheatre called the Fish Bowl, named for the large schools of fish that frequently congregate there. Mares Cayo Largo (★4.2) Cayo Largo boats almost any kind of diving you could want from wall drop-offs and wrecks to calm shallow reefs full of caverns and grottoes. If you’re looking for quiet white sand beaches and great diving this is the place. The reef sits just a mile offshore. Mares, Janez Kranjc Black Coral Wall (★4.4) Black Coral Wall is a gently sloping wall with occasional dramatic rock structure. Abundant Black Coral grows here and can be identified as the whispy bushes growing out the side of the rocky structures. Aqualung Kalli’s Reef (19) (★4.4) Kalli’s Reef is a site for boat diving. You can get there from the shore, although getting into the water is not easy. You leave the water in the middle of the adjacent dive site Mares Dry Tortugas (★4.4) A 2 hour or more boat ride is the only way to get to the Diving at the dive site Dry Tortugas. This site is from 10ft to 65ft deep and includes reef and wreck portions. Mares, Janez Kranjc Spotted Bay (★4.4) Spotted Bay is a shallower northside dive. The reef is moored in a shallower sandy area but leads out to a less defined wall than other sites at Turtle Harbor. There is a second wall further out but you have to swim further from the main wall. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Hole in the Wall (★4.3) Hole in the Wall is a beautiful, varied dive site with several entry points and routes. Enter the water from the jetty, next to the jetty, or via the beach a little further on. Dive east or westward towards Mangel Halto dive site. Dive over the beautiful to find a sloping wall with all kinds of corals and fish. Mares, Janez Kranjc Ti’ Voilier (★4.5) A ten-metre descent onto the plateau, where sandy areas and coral patates follow one another. Stroll along in search of lobsters, moray eels and lambi; don’t forget to look up to see king mackerel, barracuda or manioc passing overhead! Small sailboat wreck. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Hen Rock (★4.2) A great dive site accessible by boat for all skill levels. Reef and sand bottom with depths vary from 15 to 85 feet on the outer pinnacles. Fun swim-throughs, schools of fish, mini-walls, and overhangs. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Spanish Bay Reef (★4.2) Named for the old Spanish Bay Reef Resort, Spanish Bay Reef is a very popular shore dive with locals and visitors alike. Just 200ft from the man-made breakwater lies a mini wall running parallel with the shoreline. Diving here during high tide is best as low tide drops the visibility significantly. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Rocky Point (★4.3) Rocky Point is a sloping wall that turns more shear as you proceed east along the wall. Depths in excess of 40 meters are possible. A great site for Extended Range training. Also a nice dive to drift toward the west. Mares Iron Bound (★4.4) An interesting site where the wall itself drops to 70 ft, opening up to stretches of sand. This site is on the northeast side of the Island, about 45 mins from most dive centers. Some interesting swim-throughs and overhangs, which makes for a scenic dive site. Aqualung POINTE MORPHY (★4.3) Pointe Morphy is a magnificent site starting at 4m and reaching 25m. You will navigate between potato coral until you reach 2 big rock blocks on 15m where underwater life explodes. Beyond that, you can reach 25m but the life there is less spectacular. Mares, Janez Kranjc Mike’s Wreck (Hannah M. Bell) (★4.4) One of the many wrecks of Elbow Reef, the Hannah M. Bell was for many years known as Mike’s Wreck. The shallow side is about 18 ft deep with the deeper side being about 30 ft. Perfect for reef divers, new divers, and a relaxing dive on an iconic wreck. Scubaçao, Willemstad Water Factory / Fisherman’s Wharf (★4.3) In front of the old water factory lies this gorgeous healthy shallow coral reef. There are lots of different hard corals and large barrel sponges and orange elephant ear sponges with a shallow steep wall just at the end of the coral reef. Mares, Janez Kranjc Bon Bini na Kas (15) (★4.4) This spot is only accessible by boat and the translation from Papiamentu is welcome home. It is a beautifully situated reef that is worth it both shallow and deep. Mares Reef Scientifico (28) (★4.4) This spot is named after the research done here on the growth of corals on specially designed grids. Also nice for a night dive or snorkeling adventure. Mares Petrie’s Pillar (24) (★4.3) This spot owes its name to the pillar that Captain Don named after a friend as a wedding gift. The divesite looks very much like Andre I and Andrea II. Mares, Janez Kranjc Carysfort Lighthouse Reef (★4.4) Carysfort Reef is one of the more remote reefs in the Upper Keys and is the largest Sanctuary Protected Area in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. It’s 2.2 square miles and, at the shallowest area, has a large lighthouse. Get Wet, 77760 Tulum Chun Zumbul Deep (★4.6) A deep dive of an average of 26m, with three different plateaus of reefs that are separated by intervals of sand banks in the form of dunes. Strong current. Mares The Pinnacle (★4.4) The Pinnacle is situated toward the eastern part of Turtle Harbor on the North side of the island. The top of the reef is at about 15-20ft (4.5m-6m) and if you dive away from the wall you can go explore a couple of interesting shallow channels. Mares Ponquogue Bridge (★3.6) The Old Ponquogue Bridge was replaced a few years back with a larger concrete bridge. The Old Bridge has been left intact to provide an area for diving and fishing; its also become a fish haven! Mares Captain Don’s Reef (K) (★4.5) This reef is named after Don Steward, one of the diving pioneers on Bonaire. It is a beautiful reef with all kinds of small plateaus if you dive down the rig for a long time. Dive with Purpose Cozumel, 77675 Cozumel Las Palmas Reef (★4.4) As the shelf of Dzul Ha drops off, a gently sloping wall with sandy patches and scattered coral balls offers great night dives and plenty of marine life. This dive starts at the Money bar and can end 700 meters further North at the Presidente Intercontinental hotel. BUBBLE SHOP, 97150 Saint-Martin HMS Proselyte (★4.4) Proselyte Reef, just outside Philipsburg, is the signature dive site within the Man of War Shoal Marine Protected Area. Site is named after the H.M.S. Proselyte that struck the shallow area in September 1801. BUBBLE SHOP, 97150 Saint-Martin Carib Cargo (Wreck) (★4.5) Wreck of the Carib Cargo / RoRo / Carib Ghost. Damaged by Hurricane Luis in 1995 the boat has been moored in front of Philipsburg for one year until Hurricane Bertha took it off it's mooring line in 1996. Found some time later, today, it is on of the best wreck dives on St Maarten. BUBBLE SHOP, 97150 Saint-Martin Teigland/ Cable Reef (★4.5) The Teigland is an old ship deliberately sunk here. First she sat on a ledge but then she rolled over and now is lying next to a beautiful reef at about 70 feet deep BUBBLE SHOP, 97150 Saint-Martin Lucy's Barge (Wreck) (★4.5) A barge lying at about 55 – 60 feet deep. She sank in 1991 and is badly broken up by storm damage, but you can still recognize the engine block and the propeller. Mares Mike's Maze (★4.5) Mike’s Maze is one of the prettiest and shallowest sites within the Man of War Shoal Marine Protected Area. It starts at approximately 40 feet (12 m) and boasts healthy coral formations and numerous maze-like swim throughs. BUBBLE SHOP, 97150 Saint-Martin Little Bay (★4.2) With a maximum depth of 20ft (6m), this site is perfect for beginners . This spot is just on the front at the beach and he have a sea museum with the statues. Rodney S. (#136650) Winch Hole (★4.4) The Winch Hole is a spectacular dive site that has high profile coral around a large pit. A massive winch it lies in the pit and makes for great photo opportunities. BUBBLE SHOP, 97150 Saint-Martin Fish Bowl (★4.4) Jump on in and explore this circular-shaped reef. As the name implies, this site boasts an abundance of wildlife from Honeycomb Trunk Fish, Scrawled File Fish, and huge schools of Bi-coloured Damsel Fish. ←1...910
