Scattered ruins and columns are coral encrusted and provide habitat for many types of shallow sea life. The pier is 1526ft/465m long so lots to discover with a gradual westerly decline. Perfect for snorkeling & non-certified divers too. Aqua Marine, 00802 St Thomas Buck Island Point (Submarine Alley) (★4.5) Buck island point can be dived both as a stationary dive returning to the boat which would remain at the mooring, or as a drift dive into Shipwreck cove and finishing on a different mooring. The max depth is 80ft and average depth of 65ft. A.C.Divers, 77720 Playa del Carmen Moc Che Deep (★4.4) This is a deep dive between 26m - 28m. Strong current. The diving here is long and with many coral formations. The dive is only for certified divers. A full neoprene wetsuit is recommended for this dive to avoid scratches when exploring the bottom. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Blackthorn (Wreck) (★4.3) Part of the Pinellas County Artificial Reef Program (Pinellas #2 Reef). The Blackthorn was a 180 ft seagoing buoy tender. In 1980, the Blackthorn collided with the Capricorn, near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, killing 23 crew members. After the investigation, the tender was scuttled. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Christmas Tree Cave (★4.3) Christmas Tree Cave is a fun swim through located in the French Reef Sanctuary Protected Area. It’s named Christmas Tree Cave for the large Star Coral Formation on the top. Aqua Marine, 00802 St Thomas Christmas Cove (★4.3) Christmas Cove is located on Great St James and is perfect for beginners. Divers will explore the reef in the middle of the cove, which grows off a small rocky island. This is a wonderful site for Discover Scuba Divers and Open Water students. Christmas cove is a No-TAKE area. Mares, Janez Kranjc Long Caye Ridge (★4.5) A beautiful site located in the Lighthouse Reef Atoll accessible only by boat. Beautiful, healthy coral formations with tons of marine life to see. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Tent Reef Deep (★4.5) This site is a deep patch reef at the end of the Tent Reef system. The small, steep-sided reef is often combined with a visit to the Tent Reef dive site. Mares Diamond Rock (★4.4) Saba’s famous landmark sits on a flat, sandy bottom at 80 feet. Circumnavigation near the bottom provides excellent opportunities to see Southern Stingrays and Furry Sea Cucumbers in the sand. Mares, Janez Kranjc The Haystacks (★4.1) Haystacks lies on the reef area known as the Western Sambo reef and is an excellent, shallow boat dive. Perfect for snorkelers and all levels of divers. Aqualung Coco Cay (★4.2) Coco Cay is an island just off Nassau belonging to the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and is a popular stop for cruise-goers to either snorkel or dive. A nice, calm, clear, easy dive. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Barbara Beach (★4.1) A great shore dive accessible through the Santa Barbara Resort of boat dive via dive charter. Barbara Beach has nice, healthy coral formations. Watch out for the boat traffic entering and exiting the Spanish Waters Harbour. Mares Veronica L Wreck (★4.6) Originally sank accidentally in the early 1980s it was lifted and moved in 2006 to make way for the Cruise dock and so this 100ft / 30 mtr wreck now lies in 45 ft / 15 mtrs of water outside St Georges harbour. Covered in marine life with schools of chromis over the wreck she is a fantastic dive, day or night. Aqualung The Pumpkin Patch (★4.4) The Pumpkin Patch is a spectacular reef dive, shallow enough to snorkel, that sits off the southwest coast of New Providence. Water flowing off the Great Bahama Bank twice a day, during the tidal change, over the wall and into the Tongue of the Ocean brings nutrient-rich water making this reef a haven for all. SCUBA10, 77710 PLAYA DEL CARMEN Los Arcos - Playa del Carmen (★4.3) A place with a lot of current, suitable only for advanced or experienced divers. For this dive site it is ideal to have the NITROX certification to make the most of it. Multiple dives may be required to visit all the corners of this place. Nancy D. (#2249045) Cerebros (★4.3) The coral formations of this site are certainly true to its name (Cerrebros, meaning brains in Spanish). Brains and mountain-style corals decorate your entire dive, and with a quantity and variety of marine ife that you will always want to repeat diving here! BLUE DREAMS DIVING, 23000 BAYAHIBE Dominicus Reef (★4.1) An awesome dive site that’s easily accessible from shore with beautiful coral and marine life to see. Dominicus Reef is part of the same reef that goes from Viva Shallow and continues along the coast all the way to El Peñon and Piscina Natural. Mares, Janez Kranjc Northern Exposure (★4.5) Northernmost site on “Bass Reef“ fingers of coral go out below 80 ft / 25 mtrs and the top at only 25 ft / 8 mtrs mean there are plenty of opportunities for exploration. Mares Great Blue Hole - Belize (★4.6) The Great Blue Hole sits just off Lighthouse Reef in Belize and is one of the most famous marine sinkholes in the world. It is 407 feet deep, with many stalactites to be seen. This is an advanced dive due to the depth and seemingly bottomless hole. It is easy to get too deep too fast, so watch your gauges! Aqualung Long Caye Aquarium (★4.6) This is a great little wall dive with the reef starting in just 20 feet of water (good for snorkelers) but then drops off into hundreds of feet deep. The visibility is great, and there is much to see! Scuba XOC Dive Center, 77675 Cozumel Chunchacah (★4.6) In the shallower area adjacent to Maracaibo, this long stretch is populated with large coral heads and abundant fan corals. The depth is a constant 70 ft/21m through the entire site, with currents often unpredicatble. This is one of the southernmost dive sites in Cozumel and often the second dive after Maracaibo. Aqualung Boynton Ledges (★4.4) Diving Boynton Ledges is full of dramatic edges dropping from 51 feet on top to 67 feet in the sand. This site runs north/south with many deep undercuts and plentiful marine life. A fun boat dive! Mares, Janez Kranjc Buccaneer Molinere Bay (Wreck) (★4.3) This wreck is a sailing yacht that was sunk as an artificial reef in the early 1980’s. Laying on it’s starboard side with the deck planking gone but supports still there, this ship makes a nice swim through for those certified to do so. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Kohanee (★4.4) The last section of reef before the Atlantic, this site has a wide depth range of 10 mtrs / 30 ft to over 100 ft / 30 mtrs in places although fairly narrow across the top. Due to proximity, it is arguably the “best“ site in Grenada for life and sponge and coral growth as well as marine life. Mares Navy tug (★4.5) Go Navy Tug (local name) Real name : Rigger 2 - Former Tug for the Navy mainly used to move assets around in the port. Sunk by Lee Statler (Commercial Diver) mid 1980s Mares Turtle Bluffs (★4.1) Just west of the popular dive site General Store, Turtle Bluffs is a turtle cleaning station so be ready to see lots of green sea turtles and reef fish. This site is exposed to open water so there could be some current and this site must be dived from a boat. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Hale O Honu (★4.6) Hale O Honu is Hawaiian for “House of Turtle” and for good reason. You’ll see lots of turtles here! This is a great, easy boat dive fun for beginners and advanced divers alike. Melissa H. (#2528645) Killer Pillar (★4.3) Only 1 of the very few sites in all of the Cayman islands to find this rarely seen pillar coral growing. Other marine life to be seen include grunts, snappers, parrot fish, and octopuses too! Scubapro, Stephen Frink Orange Canyon (★4.5) Located on one of the steepest sections of the West Bay wall, Orange Canyon features a dramatic wall drop-off and unique, undercut topography. Orange elephant-ear sponges and other vibrant sponge varieties covering the wall gives this site its name. Mares Rainbow Reef (★4.2) In the Somosomo straight, the first day we went to the “Fish Factory” site. A short boat ride from the Taveuni Ocean Sports Nakia Dive Shop, weather dependent will throw you into the most colorful coral dives you e ever seen, along with marine life that calls this space home. Bernhard M. (#404373) Habitat (★4.5) Report to the local diving school at the entrance of Coral Estate, without you are not allowed to dive here. The reef is beautiful, you can enter the water via the pier and after a short swim you are directly on the wall. David M. (#2588036) Ray of Hope (Wreck) (★4.7) The Ray of Hope is a 200-foot long Haitian freighter that was sunk as an artificial reef in 2003. She is fully intact, allowing divers to penetrate her interior, cabins, and gangways. Sitting in just 40-60 feet of water, this is the perfect dive for all levels of divers. Aqualung Great Blue Hole - Bahamas (★4.6) Found off Andros, the Great Blue Hole is probably one of the most unique dives in the Bahamas. This natural hole in the open ocean floor is about 100 feet across and over 200 feet deep. Mares, Janez Kranjc James Bond Wrecks (★4.4) With their glory days long past, these purposefully sunk wrecks have become amazing artificial reefs for an array of fish, turtles, and eels to call home. Due to the Bahamas’ gin-clear water, Universal Studios sunk a number of vessels here to shoot many of the James Bond films on. Culebra Divers, 00775 Culebra The Arch (★4.2) The Arch is a key feature of this site which is a large overhang/swimthrough in roughly 20 feet of water with beautiful coral and sponge growth on the ceiling. Maximum depth of the site is 50 feet. Currents can be mild to strong, hence the Beginner/Advanced Level. Aqualung Avocet Dredge (Wreck) (★4.3) The 250’/75m long dredge Avocet was sunk as an artificial reef in 1991 approximately 21 miles SSE of Pensacola Pass. The upper structure of the wreck has been torn off and scattered by hurricanes. Mares, Janez Kranjc Español/Borracho (★4.2) A fun reef dive with a cave and swim-through at about 4.5 meters deep. An easy dive with no current great for beginning divers and snorkelers alike. Mares, Janez Kranjc Victory Reef (★4.3) Deeper than some of the other coral reefs, Victory Reef has spur and groove formations and a natural “V“ shape which provides different scuba diving adventures. If you swim northeast you will drop off the wall, and if you swim southwest you will have a 50-60 foot dive. Robert W. (#2156043) Rocky Top (★4.3) A vibrant patch reef just off the shore of Islamorada in the Florida Keys. This dive site is home to thousands of fish, coral, and larger marine life such as sea turtles, sharks, and rays. The top of the reef is about 15 feet while the sand is between 20 and 25 feet, so also good for snorkelers. Mooring ball. Mares Davey Crocker Reef (★4.5) An amazing, shallow reef dive great for snorkelers and newer divers. Davey Crocker Reef has one of the highest populations of fish life in this area. Schools of fish, nurse sharks, eels and turtles. This is a must dive. Aqua Marine, 00802 St Thomas Cartanza Wreck (★4.5) Beginner wreck dive where divers will see a small shipwreck of the Cartanza, which is broken into three pieces. Max depth on the wreck is 41 feet, with option to explore deeper reef extending to 60 feet. Many divers and snorkelers enjoy shipwreck cove as it is protected from wind, and there are many moorings. Mares, Janez Kranjc Prince Albert, wreck (★4.3) Along the south shore of Roatan lies the wreck of the Prince Albert. The wreck sits upright and intact in 65 feet of water in a sand channel between the lagoon and the outer reef, not far from the mangroves. Mangroves act as nurseries for juvenile fish and Prince Albert’s proximity to them has contributed to th Mares Wild Hammer (★4.5) Located between Wildlife Reef and Hammerhead Hole, this site offers variable topography that is great for all kinds of divers. Whether you like to see large fauna like rays, or hunt for macro life along the top reef, this easily navigable site is great for beginner divers. Dive with Purpose Cozumel, 77675 Cozumel Blackbeard (★4.5) Dzul Ha is a popular, shallow reef South of El Presidente Intecontinental hotel. The reef begins near the Landmark / Money bar area and is a popuar snorkeling spot. Artificial reefs and natural coral house plenty of fish and crustaceans. Good for night snorkeling too. Mares Paradise Canyons (★4.5) Paradise Canyons offer beautiful finger canyon formations with beautiful coral formations and lots of marine life. This site is boat accessible just off San Pedro with depths of 60-70 feet. Richard B. (#3927276) Toffee Canyons (★4.5) Toffee Canyons is a great dive site just off Ambergris Caye. This is a fairly shallow site great for newer divers and snorkelers. Healthy reef system with lots of marine life to see. Mares Shipwreck Cove (★4.4) Shipwreck Cove on Buck Island is the home of Cartanza, an old naval supply ship. This shipwreck offers excitement for new and experienced scuba divers alike. Snorkelers can also enjoy the site as the ship is clearly visible from the surface. Mares Cayo Piedra Reef (★4.1) A popular dive site located in the Varadero area, just to the east of Havana. Old yachts, frigates, and planes have been deliberately sunk for recreational exploration. ←123...10→
