Lake Hickory Scuba, Inc., 28681 Taylorsville Georgia Aquarium (★4.9) The Georgia Aquarium is one of the most renowned aquariums in the United States located in Atlanta, Georgia. This aquarium displays hundreds of different animal species amongst seven themed galleries. Aqualung Stingray Point, Boca Chica (★4.3) Stingray is located 12 minutes by boat southeast of Boca Chica. The buoy at the dive site is anchored at about 16 m depth and due to the depth more suitable for advanced divers. The reef runs in a southeasterly direction. Mares El Bajo - Cabo Pulmo (★4.6) The beautiful underwater topography mirrors the cliffs above water and creates a dramatic backdrop for the amazing wildlife sightings in the Sea of Cortez. Aqualung Coco Cay (★4.1) Coco Cay is an island just off Nassau belonging to the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and is a popular stop for cruise-goers to either snorkel or dive. A nice, calm, clear, easy dive. Mares Veronica L Wreck (★4.6) Originally sank accidentally in the early 1980s it was lifted and moved in 2006 to make way for the Cruise dock and so this 100ft / 30 mtr wreck now lies in 45 ft / 15 mtrs of water outside St Georges harbour. Covered in marine life with schools of chromis over the wreck she is a fantastic dive, day or night. SCUBA10, 77710 PLAYA DEL CARMEN Los Arcos - Playa del Carmen (★4.3) A place with a lot of current, suitable only for advanced or experienced divers. For this dive site it is ideal to have the NITROX certification to make the most of it. Multiple dives may be required to visit all the corners of this place. Nancy D. (#2249045) Cerebros (★4.3) The coral formations of this site are certainly true to its name (Cerrebros, meaning brains in Spanish). Brains and mountain-style corals decorate your entire dive, and with a quantity and variety of marine ife that you will always want to repeat diving here! Mares Parede - Dominican Republic (★4.5) The dive site “Parede“ is located about 15 minutes southeast of Boca Chica. It is a round reef at a depth of about 20 m with outcrops up to 10 m deep. It is easy to dive and suitable for beginners and advanced divers. Mares, Janez Kranjc Northern Exposure (★4.5) Northernmost site on “Bass Reef“ fingers of coral go out below 80 ft / 25 mtrs and the top at only 25 ft / 8 mtrs mean there are plenty of opportunities for exploration. Aqualung Long Caye Aquarium (★4.6) This is a great little wall dive with the reef starting in just 20 feet of water (good for snorkelers) but then drops off into hundreds of feet deep. The visibility is great, and there is much to see! Aqualung Boynton Ledges (★4.4) Diving Boynton Ledges is full of dramatic edges dropping from 51 feet on top to 67 feet in the sand. This site runs north/south with many deep undercuts and plentiful marine life. A fun boat dive! Aqualung Olowalu Reef (★4.0) Olowalu / Mile Marker 14 The easiest shore entry on Maui! Canyons of coral extend from the shore, inviting divers to explore this turtle haven.Best Dive Seasons: Spring, Fall, Winter. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Kohanee (★4.4) The last section of reef before the Atlantic, this site has a wide depth range of 10 mtrs / 30 ft to over 100 ft / 30 mtrs in places although fairly narrow across the top. Due to proximity, it is arguably the “best“ site in Grenada for life and sponge and coral growth as well as marine life. Mares Turtle Bluffs (★4.1) Just west of the popular dive site General Store, Turtle Bluffs is a turtle cleaning station so be ready to see lots of green sea turtles and reef fish. This site is exposed to open water so there could be some current and this site must be dived from a boat. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Hale O Honu (★4.6) Hale O Honu is Hawaiian for “House of Turtle” and for good reason. You’ll see lots of turtles here! This is a great, easy boat dive fun for beginners and advanced divers alike. Mares Rainbow Reef (★4.2) In the Somosomo straight, the first day we went to the “Fish Factory” site. A short boat ride from the Taveuni Ocean Sports Nakia Dive Shop, weather dependent will throw you into the most colorful coral dives you e ever seen, along with marine life that calls this space home. Bernhard M. (#404373) Habitat (★4.5) Report to the local diving school at the entrance of Coral Estate, without you are not allowed to dive here. The reef is beautiful, you can enter the water via the pier and after a short swim you are directly on the wall. Mares, Janez Kranjc James Bond Wrecks (★4.4) With their glory days long past, these purposefully sunk wrecks have become amazing artificial reefs for an array of fish, turtles, and eels to call home. Due to the Bahamas’ gin-clear water, Universal Studios sunk a number of vessels here to shoot many of the James Bond films on. Mares Sheraton Caverns (★4.6) Don’t forget your camera on this dive! Not only is the underwater scenery spectacular, but chances for whale and dolphin sightings on the boat ride out is also high. Sheraton Caverns is located just off Poipu Beach and is relatively untroubled by harsh ocean swells. Mares, Janez Kranjc Victory Reef (★4.3) Deeper than some of the other coral reefs, Victory Reef has spur and groove formations and a natural “V“ shape which provides different scuba diving adventures. If you swim northeast you will drop off the wall, and if you swim southwest you will have a 50-60 foot dive. Robert W. (#2156043) Rocky Top (★4.3) A vibrant patch reef just off the shore of Islamorada in the Florida Keys. This dive site is home to thousands of fish, coral, and larger marine life such as sea turtles, sharks, and rays. The top of the reef is about 15 feet while the sand is between 20 and 25 feet, so also good for snorkelers. Mooring ball. Mares Davey Crocker Reef (★4.5) An amazing, shallow reef dive great for snorkelers and newer divers. Davey Crocker Reef has one of the highest populations of fish life in this area. Schools of fish, nurse sharks, eels and turtles. This is a must dive. Aqua Marine, 00802 St Thomas Cartanza Wreck (★4.5) Beginner wreck dive where divers will see a small shipwreck of the Cartanza, which is broken into three pieces. Max depth on the wreck is 41 feet, with option to explore deeper reef extending to 60 feet. Many divers and snorkelers enjoy shipwreck cove as it is protected from wind, and there are many moorings. Mares Wild Hammer (★4.5) Located between Wildlife Reef and Hammerhead Hole, this site offers variable topography that is great for all kinds of divers. Whether you like to see large fauna like rays, or hunt for macro life along the top reef, this easily navigable site is great for beginner divers. Dive with Purpose Cozumel, 77675 Cozumel Blackbeard (★4.5) Dzul Ha is a popular, shallow reef South of El Presidente Intecontinental hotel. The reef begins near the Landmark / Money bar area and is a popuar snorkeling spot. Artificial reefs and natural coral house plenty of fish and crustaceans. Good for night snorkeling too. Mares Paradise Canyons (★4.5) Paradise Canyons offer beautiful finger canyon formations with beautiful coral formations and lots of marine life. This site is boat accessible just off San Pedro with depths of 60-70 feet. Richard B. (#3927276) Toffee Canyons (★4.5) Toffee Canyons is a great dive site just off Ambergris Caye. This is a fairly shallow site great for newer divers and snorkelers. Healthy reef system with lots of marine life to see. ChrisDiving, Dive Center Costa Rica, 50304 Playa Potrero Los Sombréros (★4.2) Sombrero is located 9.5km from playa Potrero or 6 miles. Its name is given to it by its shape resembling Mexican hats. There are several launching points all around the islands. The north side is rapidly deeper. Possibility of adapting the depth to the profiles of the divers all around the Island. Mares Hol Chan Marine Reserve (★4.5) Hol Chan is THE most popular dive area in Belize if not all of the Caribbean. This Marine Park sits just offshore from Ambergris Caye and boasts great visibility, beautiful coral formations, and TONS of marine life. Nerea M. (#4242665) Monkey Head (★4.3) Monkey head is a 15 minute boat ride from Playas del Coco. The dive site is part of a pinnacle that above water represents a monkey head, hence its name. Under water it is one of our favourite dive sites. Mares Cedral Wall (★4.5) The dive starts at around 13 meters (45 feet) and can reach depths up to 27 meters (90 feet). Divers can explore both the reef and the wall, with the latter featuring steep drops and rich coral gardens. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Cornelius Bay (★4.4) Very nice dive to the left of the Sea Aquarium. Can be hard to reach, however, with a bit of a climb. When entering from shore watch out for the shallow elkhorn coral formations. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Cozumel (★4.5) Cozumel is one of the most popular dive destinations in the world and caters to divers with many diver-specific hotels year-round. Sitting just off Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Cozumel boasts crystal clear, warm waters every day of the year and is home to a wide array of marine life. Aqualung Tormentos (★4.5) Tormentos is a very popular second dive among Cozumel dive charters due to its shallow depth (averaging around 65 feet) and little to no current. The reef is very healthy and full of life; a photographer’s dream. Mares, Janez Kranjc Half Moon Caye Wall (★4.7) Many divers consider Half Moon Caye Wall to be the best dive site in all of Belize. With excellent visibility, consistent and diverse wildlife sightings, and beautiful coral this dive never disappoints. Many diver operators choose this dive as the second dive following the Blue Hole. Dive with Purpose Cozumel, 77675 Cozumel San Francisco Wall (★4.4) One of the most popular dives in Cozumel. You will find a steep dropoff, with potentially strong currents and frequent eagle ray sightings. The water is beautiful with 30m or better visibility. There are big barrel sponges all along the wall. This is a more advanced dive site. Aqualung Palancar Caves (★4.7) Palancar Caves is usually done as a multi-level drift dive, starting out fairly deep, usually hitting the recreational limit, to explore the deeper reef which is full of underwater tunnels and caves to swim through. Then you’ll make your way up the reef to the more shallow area to end your dive. OCEAN SPORTS, 00979 CAROLINA Escambrón (★3.8) This is a shallow shore dive, no more than 30 feet of depth with a sandy/rocky bottom, not a lot of coral but plenty of diver friendly marine life. Visibility ranges between 10 to 30 feet. The site is ideal for check -out dives, training, or a long pleasure dive if you don’t want to travel far from San Juan. Aqualung Stetson Bank, Flower Gardens (★4.4) Stetson Bank, located at the westernmost end of the sanctuary, is an oblong, mid-shelf bank made of uplifted siltstone and claystone. It was added to the sanctuary when Congress reauthorized the National Marine Sanctuaries Act in 1996. Mares, Janez Kranjc Breakers Reef (★4.5) This is a very popular dive site in Palm Beach County and consists of the remains of an old pier in front of the famous Breakers Hotel. Ranging in depth from just a few feet to 18 feet this site is great for divers and snorkelers alike. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Paradise Reef - Cozumel (★4.5) One of the most popular dive sites in Cozumel, Paradise Reef is actually three separate patch reefs running parallel to shore and is accessible by both shore and boat. This is one of the few good shore-accessible dive sites on the island. Max depth is 45 feet so this is a good site for beginners and snorkelers. OCEAN SPORTS, 00979 CAROLINA Crashboat Wall and Anchor (★4.4) This site is the remnant of an old pier. It is a shallow site, no more than 30-35 feet of depth with a sandy bottom. The wreckage on the bottom provides an artificial reef for a large variety of marine life. Visibility ranges between 10 feet (if it has been raining) to over 50 or 60 feet. Get Wet, 77760 Tulum Akumal Reef (★4.5) Protected Reef: Part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System—the second-largest reef in the world!Turtle Town: Akumal literally means “Place of the Turtles” in Mayan, and yep, you’re almost guaranteed to see green sea turtles cruising by.Shallow & Clear: Great visibility (up to 30m/100ft) Mares, Janez Kranjc Front Porche (31) (★4.2) Front Porche is a shore accessible dive site not well known for its outstanding reef, but for its scraps. The site is littered with steel pipes, wreck parts, and old machinery. This interesting mix of artificial reef attracts a wide array of marine life. Dive with Purpose Cozumel, 77675 Cozumel Cardona (★4.6) A shallow, colorful reef 200 meters from the shore just South of Punta Tunich, this colar site is a short easy dive, usually visited as the second or third dive of the dive. Also a great snorkeling site. Mares Tuffy Canyon (★4.5) Also known as Tuffy Rocks, this site sits adjacent to the more popular ’Tackle Box’ dive site. This reef is fairly shallow and is good for newer divers and snorkeling alike. This site is boat accessible. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Tackle Box (★4.5) Tackle Box is a very popular dive site off of Ambergris Caye. It consists of canyons, caverns, tunnels and lots of places to explore for lobsters, eels and good macro life, or schools of jacks around the reef. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Tugboat (★4.2) Tugboat is Curacao’s most famous dive and snorkel spot due to its shallow depth. It was wrecked just off the shore of Caracasbaai and sits in only 15 feet of water. The tugboat is crawling with marine life and is now covered in sponges and coral growth. Scubaçao, Willemstad Marie Pampoen (★4.2) A calm, easy shore dive where you enter the water from a small harbor. 20-30 meters out from the harbor you will find an interesting artificial reef made from dumped cars, cranes, and more scraps. Sometimes large tarpon hang around here. ←123...10→
