The small, steep-sided reef is often combined with a visit to the Tent Reef dive site. Mares Diamond Rock (★4.4) Saba’s famous landmark sits on a flat, sandy bottom at 80 feet. Circumnavigation near the bottom provides excellent opportunities to see Southern Stingrays and Furry Sea Cucumbers in the sand. Sandra S. Lake Hickory Scuba, Inc., 28681 Taylorsville Georgia Aquarium (★4.9) The Georgia Aquarium is one of the most renowned aquariums in the United States located in Atlanta, Georgia. This aquarium displays hundreds of different animal species amongst seven themed galleries. Mares El Bajo - Cabo Pulmo (★4.6) The beautiful underwater topography mirrors the cliffs above water and creates a dramatic backdrop for the amazing wildlife sightings in the Sea of Cortez. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Barbara Beach (★4.1) A great shore dive accessible through the Santa Barbara Resort of boat dive via dive charter. Barbara Beach has nice, healthy coral formations. Watch out for the boat traffic entering and exiting the Spanish Waters Harbour. Aqualung The Pumpkin Patch (★4.4) The Pumpkin Patch is a spectacular reef dive, shallow enough to snorkel, that sits off the southwest coast of New Providence. Water flowing off the Great Bahama Bank twice a day, during the tidal change, over the wall and into the Tongue of the Ocean brings nutrient-rich water making this reef a haven for all. SCUBA10, 77710 PLAYA DEL CARMEN Los Arcos - Playa del Carmen (★4.3) A place with a lot of current, suitable only for advanced or experienced divers. For this dive site it is ideal to have the NITROX certification to make the most of it. Multiple dives may be required to visit all the corners of this place. Nancy D. (#2249045) Cerebros (★4.3) The coral formations of this site are certainly true to its name (Cerrebros, meaning brains in Spanish). Brains and mountain-style corals decorate your entire dive, and with a quantity and variety of marine ife that you will always want to repeat diving here! Aqualung Long Caye Aquarium (★4.6) This is a great little wall dive with the reef starting in just 20 feet of water (good for snorkelers) but then drops off into hundreds of feet deep. The visibility is great, and there is much to see! Aqualung Boynton Ledges (★4.4) Diving Boynton Ledges is full of dramatic edges dropping from 51 feet on top to 67 feet in the sand. This site runs north/south with many deep undercuts and plentiful marine life. A fun boat dive! Aqualung Olowalu Reef (★4.0) Olowalu / Mile Marker 14 The easiest shore entry on Maui! Canyons of coral extend from the shore, inviting divers to explore this turtle haven.Best Dive Seasons: Spring, Fall, Winter. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Kohanee (★4.4) The last section of reef before the Atlantic, this site has a wide depth range of 10 mtrs / 30 ft to over 100 ft / 30 mtrs in places although fairly narrow across the top. Due to proximity, it is arguably the “best“ site in Grenada for life and sponge and coral growth as well as marine life. Mares Navy tug (★4.5) Go Navy Tug (local name) Real name : Rigger 2 - Former Tug for the Navy mainly used to move assets around in the port. Sunk by Lee Statler (Commercial Diver) mid 1980s Aqualung Ambers Arches (★4.3) This is a fun and beautiful dive site set amongst huge underwater boulders that make large caverns. You’ll see lots of schooling fish and some sharks. This is only accessible by boat dive. Mares Turtle Bluffs (★4.1) Just west of the popular dive site General Store, Turtle Bluffs is a turtle cleaning station so be ready to see lots of green sea turtles and reef fish. This site is exposed to open water so there could be some current and this site must be dived from a boat. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Hale O Honu (★4.6) Hale O Honu is Hawaiian for “House of Turtle” and for good reason. You’ll see lots of turtles here! This is a great, easy boat dive fun for beginners and advanced divers alike. Melissa H. (#2528645) Killer Pillar (★4.3) Only 1 of the very few sites in all of the Cayman islands to find this rarely seen pillar coral growing. Other marine life to be seen include grunts, snappers, parrot fish, and octopuses too! Scubapro, Stephen Frink Orange Canyon (★4.5) Located on one of the steepest sections of the West Bay wall, Orange Canyon features a dramatic wall drop-off and unique, undercut topography. Orange elephant-ear sponges and other vibrant sponge varieties covering the wall gives this site its name. Mares Rainbow Reef (★4.2) In the Somosomo straight, the first day we went to the “Fish Factory” site. A short boat ride from the Taveuni Ocean Sports Nakia Dive Shop, weather dependent will throw you into the most colorful coral dives you e ever seen, along with marine life that calls this space home. Aqualung Great Blue Hole - Bahamas (★4.6) Found off Andros, the Great Blue Hole is probably one of the most unique dives in the Bahamas. This natural hole in the open ocean floor is about 100 feet across and over 200 feet deep. Mares, Janez Kranjc James Bond Wrecks (★4.4) With their glory days long past, these purposefully sunk wrecks have become amazing artificial reefs for an array of fish, turtles, and eels to call home. Due to the Bahamas’ gin-clear water, Universal Studios sunk a number of vessels here to shoot many of the James Bond films on. MARCO M. (#3118868) Koko Craters (★4.2) A short 10-minute boat ride just outside of Kai Boat Marina sits Oahu’s Koko Crater dive site. Topside views of Koko Head mountain from this side are unforgettable. A great dive spot for beginners. Mares Sheraton Caverns (★4.6) Don’t forget your camera on this dive! Not only is the underwater scenery spectacular, but chances for whale and dolphin sightings on the boat ride out is also high. Sheraton Caverns is located just off Poipu Beach and is relatively untroubled by harsh ocean swells. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Three Fingers (★4.2) Three fingers of lava form the dive site thus its name. It sits right outside the harbor on the island of Kauai and, therefore, is an easy boat dive. This is a great site for all levels of divers with very good visibility. Mares, Janez Kranjc Victory Reef (★4.3) Deeper than some of the other coral reefs, Victory Reef has spur and groove formations and a natural “V“ shape which provides different scuba diving adventures. If you swim northeast you will drop off the wall, and if you swim southwest you will have a 50-60 foot dive. Robert W. (#2156043) Rocky Top (★4.3) A vibrant patch reef just off the shore of Islamorada in the Florida Keys. This dive site is home to thousands of fish, coral, and larger marine life such as sea turtles, sharks, and rays. The top of the reef is about 15 feet while the sand is between 20 and 25 feet, so also good for snorkelers. Mooring ball. Mares Davey Crocker Reef (★4.5) An amazing, shallow reef dive great for snorkelers and newer divers. Davey Crocker Reef has one of the highest populations of fish life in this area. Schools of fish, nurse sharks, eels and turtles. This is a must dive. Aqua Marine, 00802 St Thomas Cartanza Wreck (★4.5) Beginner wreck dive where divers will see a small shipwreck of the Cartanza, which is broken into three pieces. Max depth on the wreck is 41 feet, with option to explore deeper reef extending to 60 feet. Many divers and snorkelers enjoy shipwreck cove as it is protected from wind, and there are many moorings. Mares Wild Hammer (★4.5) Located between Wildlife Reef and Hammerhead Hole, this site offers variable topography that is great for all kinds of divers. Whether you like to see large fauna like rays, or hunt for macro life along the top reef, this easily navigable site is great for beginner divers. Dive with Purpose Cozumel, 77675 Cozumel Blackbeard (★4.5) Dzul Ha is a popular, shallow reef South of El Presidente Intecontinental hotel. The reef begins near the Landmark / Money bar area and is a popuar snorkeling spot. Artificial reefs and natural coral house plenty of fish and crustaceans. Good for night snorkeling too. Mares Paradise Canyons (★4.5) Paradise Canyons offer beautiful finger canyon formations with beautiful coral formations and lots of marine life. This site is boat accessible just off San Pedro with depths of 60-70 feet. Richard B. (#3927276) Toffee Canyons (★4.5) Toffee Canyons is a great dive site just off Ambergris Caye. This is a fairly shallow site great for newer divers and snorkelers. Healthy reef system with lots of marine life to see. Mares Shipwreck Cove (★4.4) Shipwreck Cove on Buck Island is the home of Cartanza, an old naval supply ship. This shipwreck offers excitement for new and experienced scuba divers alike. Snorkelers can also enjoy the site as the ship is clearly visible from the surface. Joanie H. (#3091588) Nautilus Reef (★4.3) A unique reef made from an ancient lava field, Nautilus Reef is an easy boat dive just offshore from Ala Moana Beach on the island of Oahu. The northwest side, closer to shore, is shallower and then drops off to about 100 feet on the south side. ChrisDiving, Dive Center Costa Rica, 50304 Playa Potrero Los Sombréros (★4.2) Sombrero is located 9.5km from playa Potrero or 6 miles. Its name is given to it by its shape resembling Mexican hats. There are several launching points all around the islands. The north side is rapidly deeper. Possibility of adapting the depth to the profiles of the divers all around the Island. Mares Hol Chan Marine Reserve (★4.5) Hol Chan is THE most popular dive area in Belize if not all of the Caribbean. This Marine Park sits just offshore from Ambergris Caye and boasts great visibility, beautiful coral formations, and TONS of marine life. Mares, Janez Kranjc Rojo Reef (★4.4) Rojo Reef is one of Oahu’s healthiest reefs located on the south side of the island. This is an easy, pleasant dive as it is deep enough that ocean swell does not affect the bottom and, therefore visibility is good. Nerea M. (#4242665) Monkey Head (★4.2) Monkey head is a 15 minute boat ride from Playas del Coco. The dive site is part of a pinnacle that above water represents a monkey head, hence its name. Under water it is one of our favourite dive sites. Mares Cedral Wall (★4.5) The dive starts at around 13 meters (45 feet) and can reach depths up to 27 meters (90 feet). Divers can explore both the reef and the wall, with the latter featuring steep drops and rich coral gardens. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Beacon Point (★4.4) This beautiful wall dive at the western tip of Caracas Bay is best reached by boat and, due to possible strong currents, is best done as a drift dive. On the shallow plateau, you will find large pillar corals. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Cornelius Bay (★4.4) Very nice dive to the left of the Sea Aquarium. Can be hard to reach, however, with a bit of a climb. When entering from shore watch out for the shallow elkhorn coral formations. Swiss Divers Association, 39390 Acapulco Palmitas (★4.4) A great dive site for newer divers due to the shallow depth and little to no current. Very interesting rock formations to see and lots of fun swim-throughs to explore. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Cozumel (★4.5) Cozumel is one of the most popular dive destinations in the world and caters to divers with many diver-specific hotels year-round. Sitting just off Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Cozumel boasts crystal clear, warm waters every day of the year and is home to a wide array of marine life. Scubapro River Taw Wreck, Saint Kitts (★4.4) Large freighter which was rated by Skin Diver Magazine as being in the top 20 in the Caribbean. The 144 foot ship sank in a storm in 1985, and then, four years later, the sunken ship was broken in half during Hurricane Hugo. Max depth around 14 m / 40 feet. Nearby, there’s a van and virtually intact bulldozer. Joshua J. (#1836373) Maui (★4.2) The island of Maui offers excellent diving opportunities, mostly on the north and western side of the island where the water is calmer. Maui’s neighbors, Lanai and Molokai also offer pristine, excellent diving. Aqualung Tormentos (★4.5) Tormentos is a very popular second dive among Cozumel dive charters due to its shallow depth (averaging around 65 feet) and little to no current. The reef is very healthy and full of life; a photographer’s dream. Mares, Janez Kranjc Half Moon Caye Wall (★4.7) Many divers consider Half Moon Caye Wall to be the best dive site in all of Belize. With excellent visibility, consistent and diverse wildlife sightings, and beautiful coral this dive never disappoints. Many diver operators choose this dive as the second dive following the Blue Hole. Dive with Purpose Cozumel, 77675 Cozumel San Francisco Wall (★4.4) One of the most popular dives in Cozumel. You will find a steep dropoff, with potentially strong currents and frequent eagle ray sightings. The water is beautiful with 30m or better visibility. There are big barrel sponges all along the wall. This is a more advanced dive site. Aqualung Palancar Caves (★4.7) Palancar Caves is usually done as a multi-level drift dive, starting out fairly deep, usually hitting the recreational limit, to explore the deeper reef which is full of underwater tunnels and caves to swim through. Then you’ll make your way up the reef to the more shallow area to end your dive. ←123...10→
