Brise-lames
★★★★☆
(11)
Just outside Sète’s harbour, the old submerged breakwater forms a long rocky ridge. A simple route follows the blocks to explore the encrusting life and fish activity; be mindful of boat traffic and sea conditions near the port entrance.
Very fish-rich site: damselfish, sand smelt, sardines, seabream, combers, blennies and gobies are common. The point is known for spiny lobsters; octopus can also be seen.
