Nazumado

★★★★☆ (52)

Nazumado is on the west side of the island where you can see Hachijo Kojima in front of you. This dive site is set up very uniquely with ropes to help you enter and exit from a walled reef that falls sharply down the slope.

There are very many sea turtles, and the few points that can be observed quite closely because they are not afraid of divers. A wide variety of nudibranchs can be seen in the spring, ranging from very small to large. Juuzen, a species of butterfly fish found only on Hachijo Island and the Ogasawara Islands, can be seen as juveniles, and in the spring, they gather to lay their eggs, the rare Juuzen Tama. Lenten sea otters can also be seen, from juveniles to adults.
