Secca di Ponente
★★★★★
(593)
The top of the shoal is between 8 m and 15 m deep, for about 300 metres in length, with its flattened ovoid shape, more or less parallel to the coast and about 300 metres away from it. It offers a conformation rich in ravines, small and large hollow caves, imposing rocks and walls.
The benthic fauna is rich and colourful with gorgonians, porifers and madrepores; large shoals of barracudas, red groupers and skipjack tuna prey on the dense shoals of anchovies.
