The Goitzsche is a former open-cast lignite mine that was flooded in 2002 due to high water.The lake is home to all typical freshwater fish as well as crayfish and other animal species.Parking is permitted in designated areas.Please note that a parking ticket must be purchased.
The Großer Goitzschesee offers divers great variety: pike, walleye, catfish, perch, carp, and eels share the clear waters with schools of whitefish.
