The quarry lake is made up of three former quarries (Quarry Lake, Blue Lake, Deep Lake), which are now connected by the increased water level.

There are some sturgeons and perches in the lake. These were probably inserted by hand, as there is no inflow of fresh water.

Dive Camp 2.0 Youth Dive Camp

Dive Camp 2.0 If you are too old for the Dive & Action Outdoor Camp, then Dive Camp 2.0 is the right place for you. If you can't dive yet, don't worry, we will be happy to start your underwater adventure with a beginner's course. This includes 3 dives (individually supervised by a diving instructor). You will receive access to the online training immediately after completing your registration. You can already dive? Decide on one of the courses listed and dive with us. There will also be plenty of fun above water, including stand-up paddling, pedal boating, chilling out on the beach, snorkelling, swimming and, weather permitting, a campfire. Dive Camp 2.0 Youth diving camp (15 - 17 years) at Steinbruchsee Pretzien from August 1-3, 2025 The youth diving camp includes: - 1 Nitrox course or Equipment Techniques course (online theory and practice on site) - 2 accompanied dives incl. equipment (*excl. Ever wonder what it would be like to work on your computer underwater? This site comes equipped with a full work table among other debris such as smaller wrecks and other rubbish. Access is easy via a footbridge, the depth ranges to a maximum of 20m.

On the south side of the lake, about 2 km after the toll station in the direction of Jachenau, you will find the entrance “Am Hackl“ at a large parking lot. At a depth of 10 m you will find the wreck of a VW Beetle to the left, in front and behind it trees and rocks.

The entrance to this site is located on the southern shore of Lake Walchensee, off the toll road to Jachenau, and can be reached via a small staircase from the parking lot. Underwater you will find rugged rock faces and large underwater rocks (20 to 40 m deep). In the crevices of the rocks you can find large eel rods.

Directly south of the village of Walchensee there is a parking lot from which a trail leads to the site entrance. Several underwater springs usually provide good visibility here. You can see a lot of sunken scraps, a small wreck, and beautiful trees on the other side of the bay.

The Walchensee is 800m long and 130m deep. One hour south of Munich, it is a beautiful day trip. The lake is rich in fish and has good visibility. From the car wreck to the steep face there is something for everyone - local dive centers will be happy to help you choose a suitable entry point!

Walchensee, Galerie (★4.2)

Slightly hidden, next to the first roofing of the road south of Urfeld there is a small parking lot. This is the entrance to the Walchensee. On the right, from 5-10 m (depending on the season), a steel strip leads to an old car wreck at ~35 m, on the left it goes directly into a steep face.

Urfeld - Desselwand (★5.0)

With the pedal boat we go from Urfeld to the buoy at the edge of the Urfeld Bay. After the descent to approx. 20m at the buoy line there is a wonderful steep face to the south, which drops down to great depths.

Urfeld (★4.1)

The entrance to Urfeld can be found at the boat rental. The maximum depth here is between 25 and 30m. There are a few tree trunks, a lot of rubbish on the sediment, and two sunken rowboats. Attention: keep to the right - there is danger on the left due to strong currents of the Walchensee power plant!

The dive at the blown up torpedo test facility resembles a wreck dive. There are metal struts sticking out and you can dive through openings.

Meersburg - Krebsgarten (★4.1)

From the parking lot you can reach the entrance via a gravel path. Caution! The stone stairs can be very slippery! The dive site consists mainly of a shallow sloping heap. The course extends from 5 to about 20m. The platform is located in the 5m area to the left of the entrance.

Meersburg - Wilder Mann (★4.3)

Winter dive site! Diving allowed only from 31 October to 15 March. Check ferry schedules before diving! This site is more for advanced divers. Steep walls and cold water can very quickly lead to mental limits.

Meersburg - Plätzle (★4.0)

Dive site for experienced divers. The steep wall drops down to 22m. However, the wall is the smaller challenge, rather it is the engine noise of the ferries between Meersburg and Konstanz that can be heard throughout the dive.

Parking in the Hirtenweg. Access between the huts, also take bathers and residents into consideration! 90° to the wrecks at 18 metres. Follow the power line northwards for 10 minutes.

The Post in Überlingen is a challenging dive site and therefore not suitable for novice divers. The steep wall with overhang is unfortunately often underestimated by divers and serious diving accidents occur. Diving is only allowed to the left at this site.

Small private lake. The number of divers are limited. There are no toilets, but the possibility to do a barbecue and spend a nice day. The access is hidden and you need a key which you can request through the owner.
