West Point
West point is aptly named as it is the Western most point on Cuvier Island. The South facing side of the point provides fantastic kelp covered stems down the the sand at 15 - 18m. The sand curves around the southern side on the island and slowly deepens. You can find deeper reefs around the 25+m mark.
Cuvier provides a shelter for offshore and coastal species in the outer Hauraki Gulf. The island is famous for Silver Drummers, Kingfish, Snapper, Crested Weedfish and occasional Manta!
