Acrapora corals. Big school of blue-lined snappers. Octopus. Yellow box fish. Gray reef sharks. Eagle rays. During manta season it is possible to see manta swimming along the reef.

Maamunagaa Giri (★4.3)

Maamunagaa Giri is like an isosceles triangle and can only be approached in good weather. The south side lies on the deep channel between Baa and Raa Atoll. Here, and on the northwest side, you can often see gray reef sharks and a beautiful school of jackfish. Macro life lies in the small overhangs and holes.

Villingilli Thila (★4.6)

Small Thila directly on the island of Villingilli on the offshore plateau in the direction of the channel between Raa and Baa Atoll. Fenfushi South (★4.6)

Nice drift dive in the channel between Maamunagaa and Fenfushi. The best condition for this dive is a current from east to west, in this case we start on a deeper thila, there comes some nice overhang with soft corals on top always a good chance to get some big fish in front of your mask!

Kudathulhaadhoo Thila (★4.5)

300m long and 80m wide, this site is a must-dive reef. On the west side, the reef falls slowly from 14 to 18m, then steeply to 30m. In front, there is a large block starting at 28m. With a little bit of luck, you will see nurse sharks here. The southwest side is crisscrossed with beautiful colorful overhangs. Current!!

Maafaru Thila (★4.4)

Great challenging reef that consists of 2 thilas. The eastern Thila is not that big and is circled in 25 to 30 minutes then you fly about. 120m to the 2nd thila. Here it goes down again to look for a frogfish. Between November and April mantas and mobulas possible.

Aarah Kuda Thila (★4.6)

A small reef with many different types of colorful coral. The reef roof is at a height of 6m and has a diameter of approx. 20m, at a depth of 25m it should be approx. 50m. On the west side an overhang with soft corals, further deeper a gap with giant moray eels and cleaner shrimp.

Smaller thila that is easy to circle around when simple current conditions prevail. The reef top starts at 7m with small blocks. To the east and north, it does not drop so steeply to 25m. In the west and south a little steeper up to 35m. In the south-west are beautiful small. Overhangs.

ADT is a deep thila in front off the island of Aarah. With a current from the west, we start on the gently sloping part of the lagoon in the south-west. Wonderful drift dive in a frenzy of colors. This reef is like an open subway tunnel cut on the side. Soft corals in many different colors hang everywhere in the tunnel. In the middle of the canal, there are coral blocks with a good chance of gray reef shark (when there’s current). The perfect place for a current specialty!

From November / December to the beginning of May one of the best manta spots in the Maldives! Also suitable for beginners! But not only mantas are sighted here. Lots of pelagic delicacies can be discovered with a bit of luck. Can have a stronger current, but easy to dive.
