SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 40%
The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 40% program is one of SSI's most popular specialties, enabling divers to use breathing mixtures enriched with up to 40% oxygen, increasing safety and providing longer decompression time compared to using conventional compressed air.
During the course, the student will learn the principles of Nitrox diving, including oxygen-related physiology, exposure limits, calculation of Maximum Operating Depth (MOD), cylinder analysis and identification, dive planning, and proper use of dive computers configured for Nitrox.
The training is conducted through theoretical classes and practical gas analysis activities, without requiring open water dives for certification.
Program Content
- Benefits and limitations of Nitrox.
- Oxygen physiology and diving safety.
- Oxygen toxicity.
- Calculation of MOD.
- Planning dives with Nitrox.
- Cylinder analysis and labeling.
- Dive computer configuration.
Prerequisites
- Minimum age: 10 years.
- Open Water Diver certification or equivalent.
Certification
Upon completion of the program, the student will receive the international SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 40% certification, enabling them to dive with mixtures containing up to 40% oxygen within the limits of their training and experience.
An essential certification for those who want to increase their safety, optimize their dives, and make the most of their recreational diving trips and operations.
