You’ll learn proper breathing and relaxation techniques, try static apnea (holding your breath while stationary), and other exercises that will help you understand how your body reacts and how to safely push your limits. You don’t need any diving experience—all you need is the ability to move safely in the water.

This advanced course takes you out into the real open water, where you’ll learn to descend properly, equalize pressure, and reach intermediate depths—with clean technique, calmness, and full control.In the pool, you learned how to breathe, relax, and hold your breath. Now it’s time to turn these basics into a real dive into the depths. Freediving Level 1 is the step from the safety of the pool to open water—where freediving becomes a true experience and where every detail of your technique really matters.You’ll learn how to dive headfirst correctly and efficiently, how to equalize pressure while descending, how to move effectively underwater, and how to return safely to the surface. Gradually and safely, you’ll reach intermediate depths and discover what it’s like to descend into the blue depths, where there is only silence and your own breath. All of this will take place under the guidance of an instructor, with an emphasis on proper technique and safety.

In November 2026, we invite you on a true diving adventure offering the opportunity to encounter whale sharks, dozens of manta rays, stingrays, various species of sharks, and many other large and small inhabitants of the underwater world in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean off the coast of the Maldives.The tried-and-true, highly rated SOLEIL 2 and its very friendly crew will provide you with a comfortable cruise, accommodations, and quality service.Diving in the Maldives is a true underwater adventure and an experience you won’t want to miss. The clear, warm waters of the Maldives are a place where, as you explore the most extensive coral reef system in the Indian Ocean, you can dive surrounded by manta rays, whale sharks, various species of stingrays, turtles, sharks, and large schools of tropical fish.The planned route is called the “Central Maldives Classic Route.” As the name suggests, the destinations are locations in the central part of the Maldives. Our boat will once again depart from Male and return to Male at the end of the trip. Therefore, no domestic flights are necessary. During this 8-day diving safari, we will visit the atolls of North Male – Rasdhoo – North Ari – South Ari – Vaavu, and South Male, where we’ll have the opportunity to explore stunning coral outcrops, mysterious caves, vibrant reefs, abundant macro life, and manta cleaning stations. These atolls are home to sites considered among the best “channel dives”—dives in the channels between islands—where there’s a high chance of seeing dolphins, reef sharks, whale sharks, hammerhead sharks, turtles, and manta rays.

In this specialty program, you will gain the advanced skills and knowledge you need to safely and confidently navigate underwater. You will learn how to use a compass and natural navigation techniques, estimate distance, how to leave and return to a designated point, plus basic navigation patterns. You will also be taught how to combine navigation techniques to enhance your diving experience. All of which hones your underwater observation skills, improves your dive safety and helps you to get the most out of every dive. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Navigation Specialty certification.

The SSI Deep Diving Specialty will teach you all you need to dive to depths between 18 and 40 meters, through a mixture of academic sessions and open water dives. You will learn to plan and safely complete your deep diving adventures and use computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most from your deep dives. Upon completion, you will earn your SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification and be able to explore beautiful deep dive sites wherever you choose. This SSI Specialty is also a prerequisite for some advanced training, making it the next logical step to take in your dive education.
