Becoming a certified SSI Specialty Instructor is easy. Train as an instructor and register for any specialty instructor seminar you would like to teach. Alternatively, you can teach your desired specialty course together with an experienced specialty instructor or apply directly to SSI for a review of your experience. If you teach enough specialties, you will automatically qualify for your Advanced Open Water Instructor certification.

Learn to safely lead certified divers in various environments and conditions. By giving dive briefings, doing site evaluations, and leading dives, you will become a confident Dive Guide in no time. Begin your diving career working as a Professional Dive Guide or continue the qualifications for Divemaster.With the certification as a Dive Guide together with the Science of Diving Specialty you automatically become a Dive Master. As a Divemaster, you can also assist SSI Instructors with theory, pool, and open water sessions.

The Assistant Instructor (AI) course is the ideal preparation for becoming an Open Water Instructor. As an AI you can hold pool and theory lessons independently and assist active instructors with open water lessons. You will thus gain valuable teaching experience in order to then take part in an Instructor Training Course (ITC). You are also entitled to teach the Scuba Skills Update independently and to hold a try dive in the pool. The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty course is the best way to learn how to protect yourself and other divers. You’ll learn how to recognize stress, prevent accidents, and apply practical techniques for performing rescues and providing emergency care. Through a combination of pool and open-water training, you’ll be well and safely prepared to handle emergency and rescue situations. The SSI Decompression Diving Specialty will teach you how to dive beyond the no-decompression limits. You will learn to plan and conduct dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression using your recreational total diving system and a single decompression cylinder.
