In the SSI Basic Diver program you'll learn the concepts and skills you need to dive to 12 meters with an SSI professional. It's a fantastic way to try scuba diving and explore the underwater world at the same time. The entire Basic Diver program can be validated for the Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver programs within 6 months, making it easy to take the next step in your diving career.

Description

  • Duration: Typically a 1-day experience, often featuring a short academic session, one pool session, and one open water dive.
  • Max Depth: 12 meters (40 feet).
  • Requirements: Minimum age is typically 10 years old, with basic swimming skills and medical fitness.
  • Skills Learned: Breathing underwater, mask clearing, regulator recovery, and basic buoyancy control.
  • Progression: The program can be credited toward the SSI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver courses if continued within 6 months.
