Recreational diving can be practiced by people of all fitness levels, and physical limitations have little effect on the enjoyment and satisfaction associated with the sport. Diving is a little-known activity for people with disabilities, it helps to believe in one's own strength and overcome the barrier of disability, and can be a lifelong passion. People with spinal cord injuries ( paraplegics and tetraplegics ), people with cerebral palsy, blind, deaf, amputees and other physical dysfunctions can participate in diving courses. The most important minimum to participate in a diving course is a desire to practice diving and a lack of fear of water. Medical requirements are similar to those for the able-bodied. Classes are conducted by an HSA Diving Instructor who is well trained to work with people with disabilities. Classes are conducted in the pool and in open water, after passing the theoretical part of the course, passing the exam and performing dives, participants receive an OWD diver certificate. From now on, the whole diving world is open to you.
