You're thinking about upgrading your skills, or perhaps leading certified divers underwater, but you don't want to go in the direction of becoming a diving instructor. Maybe you just want to improve your diving skills. Whatever the reason, getting your SSI dive guide degree is an exciting adventure. The Dive Guide program is the first step in an exciting journey. You will guide certified divers in a variety of circumstances and conditions. You'll lead pre-dive briefings and skillfully assess sites. You'll become a confident dive guide in no time.

Divemaster is Dive Guide training plus Science of Diving specialization! The training can be done as part of the full Divemaster course package or as an option, once the Dive Guide completes the Science of Diving course the system will automatically generate a Divemaster certificate and degree for him. Divemaster is a title that distinguishes a diver as an excellent expert in diving equipment, diving physiopathology and a dive guide with whom one can safely go underwater. Divemaster is a higher form of dive guide !!!

The Assistant Instructor credential is the next step after becoming a Divemaster on the instructor path. It will allow you to gain valuable training experience, practice briefings, teach theory and conduct in-water training. If you want to advance your career as a diving professional, you can complete the Instructor Training Course, pass the Instuctor Evaluation and become an Open Water Diving Instructor.

Dry suit diving opens up a myriad of possibilities, including diving in the desolate waters of the Arctic or exploring vibrant dive sites in cold waters. Using such a suit will keep you thermally comfortable while making multiple dives in a series and free you from putting on a wet suit several times a day. The SSI Dry Suit Diving specialty is the best way to get started in dry suit diving and will allow you to possess all the knowledge and techniques needed to dive safely and comfortably in a dry suit. You will learn how to use specialized equipment such as dry suits and jackets, the advantages of using dry suits and how to deal with emergency situations specific to this type of diving. Upon completion of the course, you will receive your SSI Dry Suit Diving specialty certificate.

The SSI Deep Diving specialization will teach you everything you need to know to dive in the 18-40 meter range through a combination of theory classes and open water dives. You will learn how to plan and safely fulfill your deep diving dreams. You'll learn how to use your dive computer effectively and learn the calculations involved in gas consumption to enjoy deep dives to the fullest. Upon completion of the SSI Deep Diving Specialization, you will be certified and will be able to explore beautiful deep dive sites around the world. This SSI Specialization is also required before other more advanced courses, so it is a natural step in your diving development.

In this specialization, you will gain the advanced skills and knowledge needed to navigate underwater safely and confidently. You'll learn how to use a diving compass, natural navigation techniques, estimating distance, how to swim away and return to a designated spot, and basic navigation patterns. You will also learn how to combine navigation techniques to enhance your enjoyment of your diving experience. This will improve your ability to observe effectively underwater, increase the safety of your dives and allow you to fully enjoy your dives. Upon completion of the course, you will receive an SSI Navigation specialty certificate.

As you know, every Diver with a disability needs a companion, a guardian so-called Dive Buddy, who will participate in his diving activities. His task will be all assistance and service on the surface, living in the hotel, helping with daily activities, selecting equipment, etc. Dive Buddy can become any diver with OWD qualification of any organization and seniority of min. 20 dives including 10 with people with disabilities. It can be a family member, spouse, friend or any other person who wants to dive with a diver with a disability. Ideally, the Dive Buddy is the person closest to you, who knows your habits and routines and spends the most time with the person with a disability. We implement Dive Buddy courses in two options: SSI's OWD basic course, concurrent with an HSA Dive Buddy course for a family member or loved one, or a Dive Buddy course for a certified diver with an OWD degree, or equivalent degree from another organization.
