DPV Diving

The SSI Scooter/DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle) course allows you to travel greater distances underwater without physical exertion. You will learn how to operate an underwater scooter safely in order to explore wrecks more efficiently or to tackle currents. Core content of the course Handling & technique: assembly, care and correct storage of the scooter. Dive planning: calculation of battery life and safe turnaround points. Driving techniques: steering, buoyancy control and trim while driving. Safety: What to do in the event of equipment failure, getting caught in lines or losing the buddy. Environmental protection: Avoiding damage to the reef due to high speeds. Prerequisites & procedure Minimum age: 12 years. Certification: SSI Open Water Diver (or equivalent). Theory: Flexible self-study via MySSI app/online learning. Practice: Usually 2 open water dives with an instructor.
