Extended Range Nitrox Diving

The SSI Extended Range Foundations program offers all divers the opportunity to expand their advanced diving skills in a workshop setting. Learn more about using technical equipment with any full dive system you are certified for, and build on your basic skills to master buoyancy, trim, fin techniques, positioning and communication. The Extended Range Foundations program provides additional training to existing certifications to increase diver confidence and control in the water. All training dives are completed in a pool/conditioned water environment at a depth of less than 12 meters / 40 feet. Upon completion of this program you will obtain the SSI Extended Range Foundations certification.

This globally recognized certification is the best way to begin your lifelong adventure as a diver. Personalized training is combined with sessions in the water to ensure you have the skills and experience needed to become truly comfortable underwater. The Dive Guide program is the first step of an exciting journey. Learn to safely guide certified divers in a variety of environments and conditions. By giving dive briefings, performing site evaluations and leading dives you will become a confident Dive Guide in no time. As a Divemaster you may assist the instructor with training.

The program is designed and intended for the use of trimix as breathing gas to reduce inert gas narcosis and increase diver safety. An air/ntrox option is available for those areas where helium is not accessible. You will learn the techniques and procedures for using trimix and nitrox mixtures up to 100% oxygen for accelerated decompression.

Extend your diving opportunities as an instructor

The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue specialty program teaches you the skills you need to protect yourself and other divers. You'll learn how to recognize stress, prevent accidents and learn practical techniques to perform rescues and provide emergency care. With a combination of sessions in the pool and in open water, you'll be well prepared and confident in handling emergencies and rescue situations. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty certification.

The Assistant Instructor certification is the next step after becoming a Divemaster and another step on your path to becoming a dive instructor. It gives you valuable teaching experience. You will practice briefings, teach theory and teach in the water. If you want to continue your career as a diving professional you can complete the Instructor Training Course, pass an Instructor Evaluation and thus become an Open Water Diving Instructor.
