The Open Water Diver (OWD) course with Divers' Refuge, an internationally recognized certification from Scuba School International (SSI), is ideal to start your adventures as a certified diver. SSI's Scuba Diver program combines online learning with confined and open water dives, so you'll have the basic knowledge you need to dive safely and confidently. This program was designed for those who do not have time to take the Open Water Diver program, but wish to dive in open water; with this program you will complete almost half of the Open Water Diver program training and can easily upgrade your certification. With the SSI Marine Ecology specialty program you will learn how marine organisms interact with each other and with the environment. Underwater photography involves certain challenges that don't exist on land, but thanks to SSI's Photo & Video specialty program, you'll quickly learn how to capture images of your underwater experiences. This program provides you with everything you need to dive with an underwater camera and teaches you all the details on how to use, store and maintain your equipment. You will develop the skills and techniques necessary to safely and comfortably take underwater photographs and videos, and perfect your diving skills while using your underwater camera. The SSI Try Scuba program is the best way to dive for the first time. You'll dive in a pool or confined water accompanied by an accredited instructor, who will be by your side at all times so you can enjoy this unforgettable underwater experience and let the magic of scuba diving take you away. When you complete this short program, you will get your SSI Try Scuba recognition card and no doubt, you will be looking forward to diving again. There are plenty of dive experiences waiting for you out there and this program is just what you need to get started. Upon completion of your Try Scuba training and with your recognition card, you will be able to claim a $20 discount on your Open Water Diver course from Refugio de Divers for a period of no more than 3 months after your pool training. The Try Scuba Program is divided into an academic part that you must complete at home and the practice in the pool accompanied by our accredited instructors. It is important that you download the application for iOS or Android "MySSI" and register with SSI, in order to complete the registration process and give you access to the program. By practicing in the pool accompanied by our instructors, you will have enough time to adapt to the underwater environment. If you're having trouble deciding which specialty programs are the best choice for you, join SSI's Advanced Open Water Diver program! This program allows you to try a variety of specialties before enrolling in full specialty programs. It's an excellent opportunity to experience what advanced dive training is all about and discover how valuable it can be in your underwater adventures. During the Advanced Open Water Diver program you will try 5 different specialties. For each specialty you choose, you'll do a full briefing with your SSI Instructor and then conduct an open water training dive. In this specialty-focused tryout program you will have total freedom to explore. This program will allow you to take full specialty programs at any time and credit your Advanced Open Water Diver training during enrollment. As a Nitrox Diver, you'll be able to increase your bottom times and safety margins and reduce surface intervals, so you can spend more time diving and less time waiting. In this program you will learn new skills and increase your dive knowledge. In addition, you will learn how to plan and safely dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. Upon completion, you will earn your SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification.
