The Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba diving program and has served as the first full certification dive course for millions of people around the world – allowing them to explore the wonders lying hidden beneath the waves.During the Open Water course, students learn the fundamentals of scuba diving in a safe and supportive environment. The program is broken down into knowledge development sections, videos, confined underwater sessions for developing skills, and open water dives which take divers for their first long glide along the reefs.Here at Scuba Seekers, we place a heavy emphasis on teaching students the proper foundational techniques of diving right from the start. Each student will also be provided with their own dive computer to use throughout the class. It’s important our students leave the Open Water course feeling confident and comfortable in the water as well as with a deep understanding of the limits of diving in order to dive competently and safely.

This exciting course is all about fine tuning your diving skills while also introducing you to a range of different types of diving environments – such as deeper dives, night dives, drift dives and more. With the Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) certification, divers are able to dive with a higher concentration (up to 40%) of oxygen compared to standard air tanks.Why is this beneficial? It means:Longer bottom times. Diving with Nitrox means you absorb less nitrogen which allows you to stay underwater longer as it lengthens your no-decompression limits.Longer repetitive dive times. If undertaking multiple dives in a day, you'll have a longer allowable bottom time on subsequent dives than if you were using air.Shorter surface intervals. Breathing less nitrogen shortens the required “off-gas” time needed between dives which means you can get back in the water quicker.Less fatigue. This last point is up for debate but many divers claim diving on nitrox makes them less tired than diving on air.The Enriched Air Nitrox course is conducted as a dry course and with the eLearning done ahead of time, you can easily take the course alongside your guided dives – meaning there's no need to sacrifice underwater time during your dive holiday.

Knowing how to dive is one thing, but an in-depth understanding of the why behind it is an essential component for a well-rounded dive education. The SSI Science of Diving program provides an extensive study of physics, physiology, and chemistry and how they affect the human body while scuba diving. The course also touches on important things to know about the marine environment and takes a closer look into diving equipment. This specialty is required training for most SSI Professional programs, as well as some Extended Range programs, and is an essential way to expand your dive knowledge. We offer the Science of Diving completely online for those wishing to learn from the comfort of their own home while on those long surface intervals between dive holidays. This can be done one of two ways: 1. Independent Learning: you can purchase the digital kit from us and complete all eLearning and the exam online to earn your certificate completely independently. 2. Virtual Classroom Session: complete the eLearning followed by a virtual Zoom session with one of our Instructors to hear their expertise on the subject and delve further into the course materials. Engaging discussions and questions are encouraged and each Zoom session will be arranged between the Instructor and the student(s) on a date/time that suits all parties. Upon completion, you will be halfway to earning the coveted SSI Divemaster rating and earn the SSI Science of Diving specialty certification.

Then our try dives are for you!Introductory Dive – 1 dive, 2 hoursThe Intro Dive is designed to give non-divers a glimpse into the magic of the underwater world and is perfect for those who are short on time. After a clear briefing from one of our dive professionals on what to expect and how your dive will go, you will learn a couple basic SCUBA skills in shallow water before being taken out over the reef to explore.The whole experience takes around 2 hours and the time in the water is a minimum of 40 minutes with a maximum depth of 6m. To ensure the safety and comfort of our clients, the ratio of Dive Professional to the Intro Diver is 1-on-1.

Short on time or thinking of becoming SCUBA certified but first want to know how it feels before committing to the full course? Then our try dives are for you!Discover Scuba Dive (DSD) – 2 dives, 1 dayThis program offers students a more in-depth diving experience as they learn the first components of the Open Water Course. Students will complete a knowledge development session, 1 confined water dive in shallow water, plus one open water dive to a maximum of 12m.If all the skills have been completed and the student wants to continue with the full course, they can count these dives towards the course – but only if they are continuing with the course immediately. This program consists of 2 dives and takes 1 full day.

Challenge Yourself and Become a Better Dive BuddyThe Rescue Diver course is one of the most challenging dive courses but is an excellent way to improve your confidence in the water and become a safer, more self-sufficient diver. One of the main aims of the Rescue Diver qualification is to teach divers how to perform self-rescue and be able to act calmly and assist when another diver is in trouble.The course develops your knowledge of rescue practices both in and out of the water, teaching you how to effectively perform and assist in different emergency dive situations. Learn to manage dive accidents, properly fill in required paperwork after a diving incident, and put to use the CPR and first aid skills you learned during your Emergency First Response course.The Rescue Diver course is incredibly rewarding and you will walk away feeling properly equipped to handle real life emergency dive scenarios. Despite its challenging nature, most divers who have completed the qualification say it's the best course they've ever done.
