Open Water Instructor (Instructor Training Course ITC)

Take the next step from dive professional to SSI Open Water Instructor through a focused 12-day program at Gold Coast Dive Centre and Marine Training College—Australia’s first SSI Career Centre.

This is more than preparation for an evaluation. You will practise teaching, receive constructive feedback and develop the confidence and professional judgement required to train divers safely.

DAYS 1–10: INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE

Develop your academic presentation, confined-water and open-water teaching skills. Training includes skill demonstrations, student management, communication, SSI standards, program administration and professional responsibilities.

DAYS 11–12: INSTRUCTOR EVALUATION

The final two days are the SSI Instructor Evaluation, conducted by an independent SSI Instructor Certifier. The first scheduled IE is included.

Includes the 10-day ITC and first scheduled two-day IE.
