Becoming a certified SSI Specialty Instructor is easy. Train as an instructor and register for any specialty instructor seminar you would like to teach. Alternatively, you can teach your desired specialty course together with an experienced specialty instructor or apply directly to SSI for a review of your experience. If you teach enough specialties, you will automatically qualify for your Advanced Open Water Instructor certification.

The SSI Science of Diving Specialty course provides you with a comprehensive understanding of the underwater world and its effects on the human body. The course is the foundation for most SSI Professional courses and some Extended Range courses and is an essential part of deepening your diving knowledge. You can complete your SSI Science of Diving Specialty certification online from the comfort of your own home.
