Independent Diving

The Independent Diver Program is not intended to discourage you from continuing to dive with a buddy; rather, it is designed to prepare you for situations in which you might become separated from your dive partner. Nevertheless, after this very intensive course, you will be able to plan and conduct dives as a solo diver. In the theory portion, we will discuss the necessary technical requirements and emergency procedures and highlight the specifics of dive planning and air management. In the pool, we’ll conduct safety-related exercises using the necessary independent diving equipment and simulate emergency situations and the correct response to them. The course concludes with three “guided” open-water dives, which you will plan, prepare, and carry out entirely on your own. Our instructor will accompany you as an observer and will intervene only in the most extreme emergencies.

This certification is recognized worldwide and is the best way to become a qualified diver on an adventure that will last a lifetime. The Divemaster program is the first step on an exciting journey. Earn the respect of your dive buddies and become an ambassador for diving by completing the Divemaster program. All you need is 40 verified dives and certifications in Deep Diving, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility or at least 5 verified dives in each area plus Diver Stress & Rescue. Upon successful completion of the Divemaster program, you will be certified as a Dive Guide. If you want to turn your passion into a profession by guiding certified divers, teaching ecology programs, assisting instructors or even becoming an instructor yourself, your next step is the Divemaster upgrade with at least 60 logged/verified dives. You can upgrade to Divemaster immediately or later by studying the Science of Diving materials yourself and passing the Digital Final Exam, which makes you an SSI Professional. There are thousands of job opportunities worldwide for the next generation of highly qualified divers.

The Assistant Instructor is the next logical step after the Divemaster on your way to becoming an Instructor. It gives you the chance to gain valuable teaching experience, practice dive briefings, teach theory lessons and take over practical dive training. If you want to advance your career as an SSI Professional, you can complete the Instructor Training course, pass the Instructor Evaluation and qualify as an Open Water Instructor.

This group is open to all fans of afterwork diving from Tauchservice Ullmann, to exchange ideas and to dive AWD from May to September every Thursday at Lake Murner, from around 6 p.m. Diving takes place in buddy teams in compliance with the applicable standards of the individual diving associations. Participation open to OWD divers with cold-water-rated equipment

If you are not afraid of the dark you are welcome to join us for a twilight/night dive (appropriate certification required). Meeting point as always at the swimming area from 17.30 hrs.

This specialty course provides you with the knowledge and advanced skills you need to navigate safely and confidently underwater. You will learn the correct use of the compass, natural navigation techniques, estimating distances, leaving and returning to a given point and simple navigation patterns. You will also learn how to combine navigation techniques to optimize your diving experience. All of this will sharpen your underwater observation skills, increase your diving safety and help you get the most out of every dive. Upon completion of the course, you will receive the SSI Navigation Specialty certification.
