Dry suit diving provides you with unique opportunities, such as the chance to dive remote Arctic sites or explore other cold water dive sites teeming with marine life. Dry Suit diving also keeps your body warm during multiple dive days when you don't want to waste time putting on and taking off a wetsuit. SSI's Dry Suit Diving specialty program is the best option to become a dry suit diver and learn all the skills and knowledge needed to dive safely and comfortably in a dry suit. You will learn how to use specialized equipment, such as drysuits and buoyancy compensators, you will learn their main advantages and you will learn how to act correctly in case of emergencies specific to this type of diving. What is the SSI Classified Diving program? SSI's Classified Diving program provides training tailored to students with limited mobility and/or sensory impairments, allowing them to dive with one or more Classified Dive Buddy, or with a Classified Dive Professional. Through this program, people with disabilities or limited mobility who have a doctor's clearance can experience the thrill of diving. First in a confined water/pool environment, and then potentially in open water. What is the Classified Diving program? The student-centered SSI Classified Diving program is designed specifically for individuals who are unable to meet some of the stand-alone diver competency requirements for an SSI Open Water Diver certification. SSI Classified Diving Instructors know how to tailor the SSI Open Water Diver program and training materials to meet the specific needs of their students. All Classified Diving students continue to complete all Open Water Diver program competency evaluations. However, depending on their abilities, they may change specific techniques, and assistance in performing the skills is permitted.

SSI's Altitude Diver specialty teaches you how to plan and conduct safe dives in lakes or lagoons more than 300 meters above sea level. The course addresses lower atmospheric pressure, physiological changes, use of adapted tables/computers and differences in freshwater buoyancy.
