Dry Suit Diving

In the Sidemount Diving course, you’ll learn everything you need to perform recreational dives with one or two sidemount tanks to a maximum depth of 30 meters or to your certification depth, whichever is deeper. Sidemount diving is already a common practice among wreck and cave divers, but recreational divers are increasingly discovering the benefits of this diving style. Without a heavy tank on your back, you’ll feel more comfortable and notice that your trim improves without much effort. By expending less energy, you can reduce your air consumption, allowing you to make the most of your dive time. With better buoyancy control, easier access to valves, and greater redundancy, sidemount diving offers safety and peace of mind during your dives. You’ll learn all the skills and knowledge needed to dive safely and comfortably with a single- or double-tank sidemount configuration.

Diving in a dry suit opens up a world of possibilities, including diving in the remote Arctic or exploring vibrant cold-water dive sites. Using a dry suit will keep you warm during multiple dives in a row and save you from having to put on a wetsuit several times a day. The SSI Dry Suit Diving Specialty is the best way to start diving in a dry suit and will equip you with all the knowledge and techniques needed for safe and comfortable dry suit diving. You’ll learn how to use specialized equipment such as dry suits and dry suit jackets, the advantages of using dry suits, and how to handle emergency situations specific to this type of diving. Upon completion of the course, you will receive the SSI Dry Suit Diving specialty certification.
