The SSI Stress & Rescue course is an important and fundamental step, for any diver who wants to develop their skills beyond the level of typical recreational diving. Completion of the SSI Stress & Rescue course is the first requirement for courses for all ranks in the SSI Divemaster, Instructional Assistant or Open Water Diving Instructor (OWSI) training division of SSI.

During the SSI Deep Diving specialty you will acquire the skills and knowledge required to safely plan and execute dives to depths greater than 18 meters. Completion of this specialty is a prerequisite for taking other advanced training courses. Upon completion of the program, you will receive your SSI Deep Diving specialty certification

During this program, you will acquire the skills and knowledge required to navigate safely and confidently on dives. You will learn how to use a compass and learn the techniques of natural navigation, distance estimation, basic navigation patterns and how to leave and return to a designated point. Upon completion of this course, you will be certified in the SSI Navigation specialty.

During this program, you will acquire the skills and knowledge required to safely dive with enriched air up to 32% or 40% oxygen. Diving with nitrox, compared to that with air, can extend no-decompression limits, increase safety and reduce the duration of surface breaks.

The SSI Decompression Diving specialization will teach you to dive beyond no-decompression limits. You will learn to plan and conduct dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression, using your recreational Full Dive System and one decompression cylinder. You will learn and practice how to effectively use dive computer functions, including gas switching, gas integration, time to reserve and time to ascent. Using these computer functions will become second nature, allowing you to safely conduct limited decompression dives without hours of dive planning. Upon completion, you will be certified in SSI Decompression Diving and will be able to explore stunning deep dive sites or larger wrecks without being limited by traditional no-decompression limits. The Dive Guide course will prepare you to non-commercially lead dive groups and support other divers in the water.
