Basic Spearfishing

Basic Spearfishing

This course is designed for all spearfishing enthusiasts. Spearfishing isn’t just about going fishing—it’s more than a sport; it’s a way of living life and understanding life, as well as understanding nature and the sea, its forms of life, and learning to love and respect all living beings. Anyone who knows a true spearfisher will recognize these as their core values. This passionate sport offers unforgettable moments and catches, but the sensation of descending to great depths, enjoying the environment in complete silence, and being in direct contact with nature and its living creatures is unlike any other sport. The spearfisher operates within a very limited scope, limited by his physical capabilities. For this reason, he is at a disadvantage compared to his potential prey, which moves freely in its own environment. We therefore understand that, under these conditions, catching a fish is a true feat. It’s worth noting that spearfishing is the most environmentally friendly form of fishing. Spearfishing is the most selective form of sport fishing; the spearfisher is the only one who can choose their prey by species and size. It also requires a higher level of physical and mental preparation to practice it. All of the above makes spearfishing an exciting activity that involves a high degree of difficulty. We will teach relaxation and breathing techniques, as well as fishing techniques that respect the environment and provide insight into the lives of the most common fish inhabiting our seas. Minimum Sizes Minimum catch sizes have been established for certain species of interest to anglers and shellfish gatherers, ensuring that the fish have lived long enough to reproduce. Compliance with these regulations protects the future of fishery resources. License To engage in recreational fishing, you must hold a valid fishing license. You can apply for this license online or in person at any of the relevant administrative offices. Training To practice spearfishing, you must be familiar with free diving. Consider starting with a free-diving course if you’ve never done it before. Request information and we’ll put together a course package tailored to spearfishing. Use of Spearguns Rubber-band or pneumatic models; differences in brands, materials, and sizes. Types of Fishing Reef fishing, open-water fishing. You’ll find everything you’re looking for in a course with us—sign up and enjoy one of the best experiences of your life. Includes: Rental fishing gear Camping site Two days of fishing Drinks and snacks on board.

Outing for freedivers Level 1 and 2 MAZUNTE, OAX.

If you have completed your freediving course level 1 or 2 sign up for this trip to get your open water certification. This trip includes 2 days of freediving, 2 nights of complimentary camping and your evaluation. You can arrive on Friday the 18th and find the camping area, for which you will need to bring your camping equipment. The area has restrooms, showers, swimming pool and is a very safe area in Zipolite. If you don't like camping we recommend you to look for Airbnb nearby or in Zipolite, Mazunte or San Agustinillo. You can also find rooms from $450 mxn per night. We do a tour along the road along the coast and as we leave from Mazunte we can pick you up at the roadside in San Agustinillo, Zipolite and on the way back. The activities begin on Saturday at 9 am and end at approximately 2 pm, we recommend you to have a light breakfast to have a better experience on board the boat. After the first session we will have a light lunch and water. The second day we will have the same schedule and after finishing the activities we will return to the airport or to the road. During the practices: Try not to take on board things that get wet (if you have something that worries you can leave it in the staff vehicle), do not forget a hat or cap, sunscreen, personal equipment in a safe bag so that it does not go everywhere. If you want to bring a waterproof camera, you can use it when you are not in a training session, this is only for the recreational part. Not included: Personal equipment, transportation, food and tips.
