React Right is SSI’s emergency first response course and provides you with the training and knowledge you need to act as a first responder in a medical emergency. In this flexible dive program, you can choose which subjects you want to learn about, including primary assessment, first aid, CPR and primary stabilization techniques. You can also learn about oxygen administration in diving emergencies and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) basics. Using a combination of academic sessions and practical training scenarios, this program will give you the tools and confidence you need for emergency response. The Perfect Buoyancy Specialty builds upon what you have learned about Buoyancy Control as a new diver and takes these skills to the next level. If you have seen your instructor hovering nearly motionless before and want to achieve that mastery, then this Specialty is a must-do. You will fine tune your breathing techniques and adjust weighting to hover motionless in any position and streamline yourself perfectly so as not to disturb the underwater world. No matter if you are an underwater photographer, enjoy watching marine life, or want to dive into wrecks or caves – buoyancy control is what you need to reach perfection.

In this course, you’ll master the use of maps, natural navigation techniques, compass skills, and other tools to confidently find your way through any underwater terrain, even in low visibility or strong currents. The course combines engaging theory sessions with two dives, where you'll practice navigation techniques in a fun and safe environment. With a small group size of no more than four students per instructor, you’ll receive personalized attention to refine your skills. By learning to navigate underwater, you’ll make your dive planning more efficient and relaxing, allowing you to focus on enjoying the experience rather than worrying about where to go. Many of the ocean’s best dive sites are wrecks. These impressive structures attract unusually high densities of marine life and give you the chance to immerse in living history as you dive. There is nothing quite like wreck diving and the SSI Wreck Diving specialty will give you all the skills and knowledge you need to become a safe and confident wreck diver. With a combination of academic and confined water sessions, you will be taught how to safely conduct non-penetration dives around wrecks and artificial reefs, up to a depth of 30 meters. Dive Deeper with the Deep Diver Specialty In just two days at Crystal Dive, you can earn your Deep Diver Specialty and become certified to dive to depths of 40 meters. Training is conducted in small groups of up to four divers, where you’ll master techniques for exploring beyond 30 meters and learn to adapt to the unique challenges of deep-water environments. During the course, you’ll practice skills like underwater navigation, assess your reaction to nitrogen narcosis, and independently plan your final dive, preparing you for future deep diving adventures.

Join the SSI Science of Diving specialty and you will develop a complete understanding of the underwater world and its effects on the human body. This specialty is required training for most SSI Professional programs, as well as some Extended Range programs, and is an essential way to expand your dive knowledge.
