During the Advanced Open Water Diver Program, you'll experience 5 different specialties by completing one open water training dive per specialty after a thorough briefing with your SSI Instructor. By completing this program you will have total freedom to explore. You can complete the full Specialty trainings at any time in the future and credit your Advanced Open Water Diver training towards them.

The Dive Guide program is the first step in an exciting experience not to be missed. Learn how to safely guide certified divers in a variety of environments and conditions. By preparing dive briefings, conducting site assessments and guiding dives, you'll become a confident and competent Dive Guide in no time. Start your dive career working as a Dive Guide or continue your training to become a Divemaster.

With SSI's Diver Stress & Rescue specialty program, you'll learn the skills necessary to protect yourself and your fellow divers. Not only will you learn how to identify stress and avoid accidents, but we'll also teach you practical techniques for conducting rescues and providing assistance in emergency situations. By combining practical sessions in the pool and in open water, this program prepares you perfectly and enables you to handle emergency and rescue situations with confidence. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue specialty certification.

The SSI Decompression Diving Specialty will teach you to dive beyond the no-decompression limits. You will learn how to plan and conduct dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression using a total recreational dive system and a single decompression cylinder. In addition, you will know how to effectively use the dive computer functions, including gas switching, gas integration, time to reserve and time to surface. Eventually, you will use these dive computer functions instinctively and safely perform limited decompression dives without hours of planning. Upon completion, you'll earn SSI's Decompression Diving specialty certification and be able to explore deeper dive sites or larger wrecks without the restriction of traditional no-decompression limits, multiplying your adventure possibilities.

Get started today: You must be a Divemaster or equivalent to join our 3-step instructor training approach. To start the training process, enroll in the Assistant Instructor/Instructor Training Course combination and supplement it with digital learning. Once you have successfully completed the course, you can complete the Instructor Evaluation (IE) to qualify as an SSI Open Water Instructor. This 10-day training program allows you to teach several key SSI programs independently, such as Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress & Rescue and Dive Guide. For those students who prefer to learn slowly between training programs and gain teaching experience, the 3 parts can also be completed as individual steps: Assistant Instructor, Instructor Training Course (ITC) and Instructor Evaluation (IE), one after the other, at your own pace and flexible schedule.

After becoming a Divemaster, the Assistant Instructor qualification is the next step in a dive instructor's career path. This program allows you to gain teaching experience, practice briefings and provide in-water and classroom training.
