River Diving

SSI's React Right Emergency Program consists of the following basic components: Initial Assessment, Application of First Aid and CPR, Stabilization Techniques and includes two optional components: oxygen administration for diving emergencies and basic AED/defibrillator skills. Course participants receive SSI React Right certification after completing this program.

The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox program shows you how to safely plan and conduct dives with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. Diving with oxygen enriched air (EAN) increases your decompression limits and your safety and reduces the required length of surface intervals compared to air. You will receive the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification upon completion of this program.

This program provides the knowledge and skills necessary to dive safely and comfortably in a dry suit. You will learn all about the special requirements of diving with a dry suit and how to use your new equipment correctly. You will also learn a lot about the advantages of a dry suit and the correct behavior in emergency situations, which is different with dry suit diving. After completing this program, you will receive the SSI Dry Suit Diving Specialty certification.

This program provides in-depth and detailed information on physics, physiology, decompression theory, aquatic environment and diving equipment. This training is required for most SSI Dive Professional programs and some Extended Range programs. You will receive the SSI Science of Diving Specialty certification upon completion of this program.

You will also naturally encounter the most spectacular sea creatures exactly where the current is strongest. During shore dives, you will notice how easy it is to reach your favorite dive sites from the shore. Waves, currents and tides have a big influence on your diving experience and can also jeopardize your safety underwater if you don't know how to deal with them. In the SSI Waves, Tides & Currents Specialty you will improve your diving skills and understanding of dynamic water movement to dive safely in a variety of environments. You will gain a better understanding of dynamic open water situations and learn to better assess environmental conditions. The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty program is the best course to learn how to protect yourself and other divers. You'll learn how to recognize stress, avoid accidents and practical techniques for performing rescues and emergency care.
