Occasionally you see more and more divers who no longer dive with one or two tanks on their back (backmount), but carry the tanks on their side (sidemount). But why do they do this and are there any advantages over the other system? sidemount diving was developed by wreck and cave divers, for whom the most hydrodynamic position possible was important in order to fit through narrow and small passages. Haven't we all unintentionally been underwater alone - not diving solo. How often has your buddy been out of reach or you've been so distracted while taking photos that you've lost your buddy? The SSI Advanced Open Water Diver program allows you to gain new, interesting and practical experience. You can choose five dives individually from a variety of specialties without having to take a full course in those specialties.
If you are not sure how you want to develop as a diver, the SSI Advanced Adventurer course is the best way to improve your diving skills and experience and to find out which specialties might interest you. If one of the dives is from the Deep Diving section, you will extend your depth limit to 30 meters. Your dives will of course be credited if you decide to complete one or more of the specialties.
