SSI Freediving Challenge – Participant Requirements and Responsibilities
The SSI Freediving Challenge is designed for certified freedivers who want to test their freediving skills, safely explore their personal limits, and enjoy a motivating experience in a supportive environment.
Participation Requirements:
- The minimum age is 18. Participants younger than 18 may participate provided they meet current SSI standards and obtain parental or legal guardian consent.
- It is recommended that you hold a valid freediving certification from SSI or another recognized organization.
- Participants must have sufficient freediving experience for the challenge and target depth they have selected.
- Participants must be in good physical and mental health to engage in freediving.
- A health declaration form must be completed prior to the event, and a doctor’s approval must be provided when required.
Equipment and Preparation:
- Participants are advised to bring their own personal freediving equipment, such as a mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, and weight belt.
- Equipment rental may be available for an additional fee, if needed.
- Participants are advised to arrive at the event well-rested and properly hydrated, and to avoid heavy meals before diving.
Safety and Participant Responsibilities:
- All participants must attend the safety briefing and follow the instructions of the organizational team and safety divers.
- All breath-hold dives must be conducted under appropriate safety supervision. Diving alone is strictly prohibited.
- The diving depths and activities to be conducted as part of the Challenge depend on the participant’s experience, sea conditions, and the safety team’s assessment.
- Participants are required to notify the organization’s staff of any health concerns, medical conditions, or changes that could affect their fitness to dive.
Important: Safety is always our top priority. The organizing team reserves the right to change, postpone, or cancel the event schedule due to weather conditions, sea conditions, or safety concerns.
