The purpose of the program is to introduce students to detailed knowledge of physics, physiology, decompression theory, the aquatic environment, as well as diving equipment.
Learn all about the effects of different gases on divers, power calculations, the behavior of light and sound underwater, thermal comfort and body physiology underwater in general, tissue saturation and desaturation, and the past, present and future of diving equipment.
This training is required for most SSI Dive Professional and some Extended Range programs, but will be useful for any diver interested in the why and how of it all.
Upon completion of the program, you will be certified as an SSI Science of Diving Specialty.
