TDI Cavern Diving

The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox program shows you how to safely plan and conduct dives with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. Diving with oxygen enriched air (EAN) increases your decompression limits and your safety and reduces the required length of surface intervals compared to air. You will receive the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification upon completion of this program.

The Assistant Instructor course is the next logical step on your path to becoming an Instructor, following the Divemaster course. It gives you the chance to gain valuable teaching experience, practice dive briefings, teach theory lessons, and lead practical dive training. If you want to advance your career as an SSI Professional, you can complete the Instructor Training Course, pass the Instructor Evaluation, and qualify as an Open Water Instructor.

Proper gas blending is essential for breathing safely underwater. The SSI Gas Blender course teaches you the skills and concepts required to safely blend Nitrox and helium-based Trimix gases. This non-diving program is open to both certified and non-certified divers and teaches the proper application of mathematics, gas blending software, physics, and techniques necessary to safely blend breathing gases. The SSI Extended Range Foundations course offers you the opportunity to expand your already advanced diving skills in a workshop-style setting. You’ll learn more about using technical equipment in conjunction with the Total Diving Systems for which you’re already certified. Building on your basic skills, you’ll perfect buoyancy control, trim, finning techniques, positioning, and communication. The Extended Range Foundations course is supplemental training to existing certifications and is designed to increase the diver’s confidence and control in the water. All training dives are conducted in a pool or confined open water environment at depths greater than 12 meters. Upon completion of the course, you will receive the SSI Extended Range Foundations certification.

The SSI Extended Range Nitrox course offers you a thorough introduction to the concepts, techniques, and procedures required for planning decompression dives with nitrox. Designed as a standalone program or as a stepping stone to becoming an SSI Extended Range Diver, this enriched air diving course teaches the fundamental skills required for all future technical courses. It prepares divers to plan and conduct dives with decompression limits up to a maximum depth of 40 meters using an XR sidemount or twin-tank configuration. In addition, this advanced Nitrox course teaches you the techniques and procedures for using breathing gases up to 100% oxygen for decompression.

Exploring an overhead environment, such as developed cave systems and large wrecks, is an exciting experience. However, navigating these sometimes narrow spaces with traditional diving gear can be a challenge. But by improving their streamlining with a sidemount configuration, adventurous divers can create more space for themselves and explore even tighter spots than ever before. The Extended Range Sidemount course trains you in the proper sidemount setup and the techniques required to efficiently and effectively use multiple stage tanks for decompression diving in a sidemount configuration. Upon completion of this course, you’ll receive the SSI Extended Range Sidemount certification and can then use this configuration in all other XR courses.

The SSI Technical Extended Range Diving course builds on the skills and techniques you learned as an SSI Extended Range Trimix Diver. During this course, you will go beyond no-decompression limits by increasing your dive depth and duration. Using technical equipment and an XR Sidemount or Twinset Total Diving System, the Technical Extended Range Diving course provides enthusiastic underwater explorers with the training necessary to independently plan and conduct mixed-gas dives with unlimited decompression down to a depth of 60 meters. Upon completion of this course, you will receive the SSI Technical Extended Range certification.

The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty course is the best way to learn how to protect yourself and other divers. You’ll learn how to recognize stress, prevent accidents, and apply practical techniques for performing rescues and providing emergency care. Through a combination of pool and open-water training, you’ll be well and safely prepared to handle emergency and rescue situations. Upon completion of the course, you’ll receive the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue Specialty certification.

The SSI Science of Diving Specialty course provides you with a comprehensive understanding of the underwater world and its effects on the human body. The course serves as the foundation for most SSI Professional courses as well as for some Extended Range courses, and is an essential component for deepening your diving expertise. You can earn your SSI Science of Diving Specialty certification online from home. Upon completing the course, you’ll be halfway to the coveted SSI Divemaster certification and will receive your Science of Diving certification.

Do you want to get the most out of your dive time and have real fun underwater? Then discover diving with a DPV/dive scooter. In this course, you’ll learn the skills and procedures needed to safely plan and conduct these types of dives. You’ll learn the specific precautions for using dive scooters/DPVs, how to maintain contact with your dive buddy, monitor your other equipment, and safely enjoy this new diving experience with the DPV! Upon completion of the course, you’ll receive the SSI Scooter/DPV Diving Specialty certification and will be able to dive to depths of up to 30 meters with a dive scooter/DPV.
