Technical Extended Range

The SSI Extended Range Foundations program provides you with an opportunity to enhance your advanced diving skills in a workshop environment. Learn more about using tec diving gear with any total diving system you are certified to use and build upon your basic skill set to master buoyancy, trim, finning techniques, positioning, and communication. The Extended Range Foundations program provides supplementary training to existing certifications to increase your confidence and in-water control. All in-water sessions are completed in a pool/confined water environment at depths less than 12 meters. You will earn the SSI Extended Range Foundations certification after completing this program.

We depart our dock 30 minutes before the sunrises and enter the water in the dark. Watch the day shift begin it daily routine

Watch the reef shift change with our team of instructors. We depart the dock 20 minutes before the sun goes down and put you on a lively reef and the nocturnal animals begin to come out to hunt

Join us for a morning or afternoon 2 tank fun dive on many of Utila's amazing dive sites. Our small groups and fast boats will take you to sites other Utila dive centers will not. Rental gear inlcuded. Nitrox available for $12 per tank

The SSI Technical Extended Range Trimix diving program builds upon skills and techniques learned as an SSI Extended Range Trimix Diver. During this Extended Range diving program, you will go beyond the no-decompression limit by increasing your dive depth and duration. Using either a sidemount or twinset configuration, the Technical Extended Range Trimix gas diving program provides avid underwater explorers with the training necessary to independently plan and conduct mixed gas unlimited decompression dives to a maximum depth of up to 60 meters. The SSI Extended Range Trimix training program is the core program that all other open-circuit programs build on. This program is the start of your exciting journey to become an accomplished tech diver. Using either a sidemount or twinset configuration, this program prepares you to plan and conduct trimix decompression dives to a maximum depth of 45 meters. You will learn the techniques and procedures for using trimix breathing gases and nitrox mixtures of up to 100% oxygen for decompression. You will earn the SSI Extended Range Trimix diver certification after completing this program and gain new tech diver knowledge.

Correctly mixing gasses is essential to being able to breathe safely underwater. The SSI Gas Blender program teaches you the skills and concepts required to safely blend nitrox and helium-based trimix gases. This non-diving program is open to certified and uncertified divers and teaches proper usage of mathematics, gas blending software, physics, and techniques required to blend breathing gases safely. Upon completing this program, you will earn either the SSI Nitrox Gas Blender or SSI Trimix Gas Blender certification. Gasses additional.

This globally recognized certification program is the best way to begin your lifelong adventures as a certified scuba diver. Personalized training is combined with in-water practice sessions to ensure you have the skills and experience required to become truly comfortable underwater. You will earn the SSI Open Water Diver certification.Includes Nitrox 40 certinfication

The SSI Deep Diving Specialty will teach you all you need to dive to depths between 18 and 40 meters, through a mixture of academic sessions and open water dives.You will learn to plan and safely complete your deep diving adventures and use computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most from your deep dives.Upon completion, you will earn your SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification and be able to explore beautiful deep dive sites wherever you choose. This SSI Specialty is also a prerequisite for some advanced training, making it the next logical step to take in your dive education.Includes 3 open water training dives and 1 additional fun dive.

If you want to make the most of your bottom time and have more fun on your dives, try underwater scooter or diver propulsion vehicle (DPV) diving. In this underwater scooter and DPV course, you will learn the skills and concepts you need to safely plan and conduct dives using scooters or DPVs. You will learn the special precautions needed for using DPVs, how to maintain buddy contact and how to control your equipment, so you can safely enjoy the new dive experiences DPVs provide. Upon completion of this program, you will earn the SSI Scooter/DPV Diving specialty certification and be able to dive up to 30 meters deep with a scooter or DPV.

The Dive Guide program is the first step on an exciting journey. Learn to safely lead certified divers in various environments and conditions. By giving dive briefings, doing site evaluations, and leading dives, you will become a confident Dive Guide in no time. Begin your diving career working as a Professional Dive Guide or continue the qualifications for Divemaster. This program offers the candidate the following: Up to 3 weeks of free accommodations in our professional apartment while training with us Digital Training Materials Shallow Water and Open Water Training SSI Dive Guide Slates SSI Professional Fee for the current year Training in Gas Blending and cylinder filling Training in Decompression Dive theory Finning Techniques sessions Basic Gear Repair sessionsThe Divemaster program can be customized for your needs. SSI Sidemount Specialty course is the fastest trending course in recent years of diving. Sidemount is a scuba diving equipment configuration which has diving cylinders mounted along the diver, below the shoulders and along the hips, instead of on the back of the diver. It began as a configuration popular with advanced cave divers, as the total area of a sidemount diver is so much smaller than that of a backmount. Hence, it is much easier for a sidemount diver to maneuver in tight spaces that their back mount counterpart. Nowadays, the main reason of the Sidemount trend is the highly customizable set up, allowing divers to fine-tune their equipment to the smallest details. Moreover, a sidemount system is a good start-up for a journey in the technical diving area. Divers will learn to stage, and handle more than one tank, which is a regularity in technical diving.

The SSI Invasive Species Management specialty program is designed for divers who want to take a proactive role in marine conservation. This course provides an in-depth look at the ecological impact of invasive species and the practical steps required to manage them effectively. The training bridges the gap between environmental awareness and active field work, focusing on the theoretical knowledge and procedural background needed to participate in local management initiatives during your dives.
