Extended Range Foundations

This internationally recognized training program is the best way to begin your lifelong adventure as a certified diver. Personalized training is combined with hands-on water sessions to ensure you have the skills and experience required to be truly comfortable underwater. You will receive your SSI Open Water Diver certification. The course starts on this date and lasts approximately 3 weeks (confirm dates at the time of registration). The course consists of a workshop, 5 confined water (pool) modules, and 4 open water dives. Knowledge acquisition can be done online using the SSI e-learning platform. The exam is taken in person or online, according to your preference. The course includes the use of all necessary equipment and decompression sickness insurance. Swimming skills are mandatory.

As a nitrox diver, you can increase your bottom times and safety margins, as well as decrease surface intervals – meaning you can spend more time exploring the dive sites you enjoy and less time waiting to dive! In this program you will learn new skills and increase your diving knowledge while learning how to plan and dive safely with enriched air mixtures up to 40% oxygen. Upon completion of the program you will receive an SSI 32% to 40% Nitrox Enriched Air certification.

The SSI Extended Range Foundations program offers all divers an opportunity to expand their advanced diving skills in a workshop environment. Learn more about technical diving equipment with any total diving system you are certified to use, and develop your basic skill set to master buoyancy, balance, stabilization techniques, positioning, and communication.During the course, the diver learns to master trim, balance, buoyancy control, efficient propulsion techniques (frog, flutter, modified and backward), skills such as S-drill, V-drill, SMB deploy and much more, always in team coordination, and all within the rigorous standards of the DIR philosophy. Classes combine theory, confined water practice and real dives, ensuring that each student develops confidence and consistency in different environments and conditions.Another highlight of XR Foundations is its focus on the DIR (Doing It Right) equipment configuration—a standardized system that prioritizes simplicity, functionality, and safety. This approach allows divers to work in an integrated way, reducing errors and increasing efficiency in routine or emergency situations. You will receive the SSI Extended Range Foundations certification upon completion of this program.

The Try Scuba SSI program is the best way to experience scuba diving for the first time. You'll be in confined waters and well looked after by your instructor, so you can enjoy those unforgettable first breaths underwater and experience the magic of diving. At the end of this short course, you will have received your Try Scuba SSI recognition card and will undoubtedly want to dive again. Training session, 2 dives

Departure for Vigo, Pontevedra, Spain. The trip is organized as a double dive with two dives. Open to all OWD certified students or higher. Active diving insurance is mandatory. Equipment rental available.

The Submersus buoyancy course aims to develop the diver's precise underwater control—the ability to maintain depth, position, and stability with minimal effort. More than simply "not going up or down," it's about understanding and mastering the relationship between body, breath, and equipment. The training follows the DIR (Doing It Right) philosophy, based on simplicity, efficiency, and consistency in diving technique.Improving buoyancy directly impacts safety, comfort, and performance. It allows for reduced air consumption, avoids bottom contact, protects the environment, and increases control in all phases of the dive. Many common problems—instability, excessive effort, or poor visibility caused by sediment—disappear when the buoyancy control system is well-constructed.Throughout the course, divers work on their horizontal position (trim) and balance through proper weight distribution, fine-tuning buoyancy control through breathing and equipment. The focus is on stability, precision of movement, and body awareness in space.Submersus' approach is based on DIR principles: simple and functional equipment setup, intentional and efficient movements, and a team-centered approach to diving. Ultimately, the diver gains more control, reduces effort, and dives in a more conscious, stable, and effective way.
