When diving with a rebreather, the air you breathe is treated by a chemical process and supplied with fresh oxygen. What are the advantages of this? Imagine that you are part of the underwater world. For the marine animals, you are a visitor and not a disturbing intruder, because you do not produce any air bubbles and can stay underwater much longer, as your no-decompression time is extended many times over. The air is warm, so no temperature is taken from your body. And the air you breathe is slightly moist, which counteracts dehydration.
